Living in Florida has its upsides: Publix oftentimes sells SN 12 packs for $13. I will pay ~$1.08/beer for SN all day long.

Right now I'm enjoying a DFH 90-minute IIPA. The first time I had one I wasn't sold on it, but this second 4 pack helped me to get a new, better impression of the beer. I like it a lot, but it's not on my top 5, probably not even top 10.

I also secured myself an Oak Aged Yeti (never tried it--super fucking excited--but I only hear great things) and a Stone collaboration, a "Texas brown ale", something I've never seen before, but it's Stone (and pals) so I have high expectations.

>>Witbier, white beer, bière blanche, or simply witte is a barley/wheat, top-fermented beer brewed mainly in Belgium and the Netherlands. It gets its name due to suspended yeast and wheat proteins which cause the beer to look hazy, or white, when cold. It is a descendant from those medieval beers which were not brewed with hops, but instead flavoured and preserved with a blend of spices and other plants referred to as "gruit". It therefore still uses gruit, although nowadays the gruit consists mainly of coriander, orange, bitter orange, and hops. The taste is therefore only slightly hoppy. The beers have a somewhat sour taste due to the presence of lactic acid.[12][13] The suspended yeast in the beer causes some continuing fermentation in the bottle.
Witbier differs from other varieties of wheat beer in the use of gruit. French regulation (the territory was French in the 14th century) excluded the use of hops in gruit. Witbier can be made with raw wheat, in addition to wheat malt.[12][14]
In recent times, some Belgian brewers have been making fruit flavoured wheat beers.[citation needed]

If you can get your hands on this on a hot summer day. Or when you're in The Netherlands or Belgium. Give it a try!

Just opened it. Very strong aroma of coffee and roasted malt.

Extremely thick beer. Motor oil tier.
Very bitter finish with a great burnt aftertaste.

Not my favorite, as I prefer less coffee, but still an exceptional beer.

I like the 11° the most; pic related. And draught is so damn much better that bottled, not even to mention canned, but it depends a lot on the barkeeper who draws it.

Put your butthurt away. Everyone knows American brewers are completely obsessed with being as outrageous as possible at all times. When it's good, it's great, but sometimes a pilsner is nice. I think America makes one or two of those properly.

>> No.4369061

>>4368075
Most of the "outrageous" stuff comes out of a few breweries in the Cascades and Colorado. Given the sheer number of breweries in the rest of the country putting out fantastic, traditional beers, your argument makes little sense. Drink a New Glarus Spotted Cow, Founders Breakfast Stout, New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red, Great Lakes Brewing Pompous Ass (EPA), or Victory Harvest Pils and you'll see that there are indeed American brewers making some of the very best representations of just about every traditional style of beer on the planet. We've got a craft beer culture, wealth, and a widely dispersed population giving us a leg up on, say, Britain or Germany. Right now only Belgium is comparable, and that's only in a very small number of traditionally Belgian styles.
