I rarely ... OK, scratch that, in the past I rarely used to get stumbling-drunk, or drunk at all. Alcohol was a stigma in the house where I grew, my mother's parents were alcoholics and beer containers used to make bad memories surface. My father didn't drink, and his brother was an alcoholic. He was that "weird uncle". So I was never too attracted to alcohol. My father did drugs, though, so I did those. My mother's boyfriend did drink, though, quite a bit, and didn't handle his booze too well. He's got teh native blood. I, on the other hand, handle it fairly well.

Moving on, after being adopted, my sponsor didn't drink either, and also preferred drugs. Throughout then, I had fairly easy access to drugs, so I didn't drink all that much. I think I used to drink at my mother's place just because, but it was very occasional. After I stopped seeing her altogether, I lost my pot connection. She lives in an area where there are a lot of natives, so pot is a local crop, Indica being the preferred base strain in the region.

After that I was also doing drugs, so I didn't really drink. Drugs were cheaper, had the effects I sought, and were usually delivered by nice people, so it was all good.

I think I started drinking more regularly after I left my adoptive home, and since then I was more into food and cooking, and I lived pretty much in the core downtown area. Food delivery is ... wat?

Back at my mother's place there was this restaurant that delivered until 4AM. They were open 24 h. a day, and were the Official Purveyor of the bar crowd.

I think what I ordered most, while drunk from them, is probably burgers and poutine. Both were mediocre, but it was OK food.

These days when I'm drunk I usually eat whatever's easiest. Yesterday I had a box of mac and cheese, and I made a pancake to curb a sugar craving.

The joint in the outskirts also made a rather gross pizza, which was all-dressed, with bacon, spaghetti sauce, smoked meat, and onions. There might've been some Italian sausage on there, too.

Still trying to remember why I drink, I think it's just lack of comfort. I don't feel safe, I don't feel well-surrounded, I'm a bit like a fish out of its tank.

Where my drug use in the past was never really a problem, I think my current drinking habits have become one. That's why I wrote all this crap, so I could try and think why, how, and when this happened.

I usually drink at home, which limits my options.

If I've got the ingredients, I either make steak nachos (brisket as the steak; it's chewy but I like the flavor) with lots of cheese, beans and quac or hot dogs fried with bacon and onions, with mayo on top.

I remember I once had friends over (New Year's Eve, we all got shit faced) and we felt confident in our cooking abilities, so we made chicken fried steak, purple mashed potatoes, a cake, macaroni and cheese (home made) and a duck.

While drunk, it all tasted like heaven, but when we got up, the limited left overs (some of the mac and potatoes) tasted like ass and we'd managed to make a huge mess. It also turns out someone had cut themselves while cooking and gotten their blood in the egg wash for the steaks.

Thank fucking god we're all neckbeards and don't have enough sex to get HIV or something.

If I'm out drinking, I can't stop myself from ordering food. I remember visiting my cousins in Austin with some friends on a road trip once. About 8 of us all together in a van, decided we were hungry; only one sober was my friend's girlfriend (won't drink, allergic to most of it anyway), and she was driving us around from one fast food place to another, as we bought literally whatever we wanted.


I ended up getting a triple meat triple cheese with bacon and mayo from Whataburger, chicken strips with buttermilk dressing from Jack n the Box (along with curly fries and an oreo shake), nachos from Taco Cabana plus some of those taquitos, and I ate most the left overs in the car.

If it tasted good I fucking ordered it. God I was so sick in the morning, though. I think we spent over $200 on fast food that night; so much remorse.

Dude, you must be me. I get a cheese pizza well done and have them add parmesan before cooking it so it gets brown. Then I'll add a little red pepper flake before I eat it. By well done I tell them to cook it until the whole crust is crunchy like a cracker and the cheese is brown. This is also only when I'm drunk, when sober I get a pepperoni, onion and mushroom cooked regular.
