Sup /ck/, i have a pretty random question.

How do you prepare your hotdogs in buns? Do you butter the bun, and what do you add? Personally i butter the inside and put mustard over the hotdog, but i don't know of anyone else who butters it. I'm also a fan of ketchup with well fried onions, when i can be bothered.

with fried onion though, it's all good then.

Ketchup in general is meh, but add something good to it like a steak or hotdog and it suddenly becomes pretty decent.

i had a hotdog in seattle with caramelized onions and cream cheese

i also had one wrapped in seaweed with chives

they where both pretty damn good.
people in seattle make up some strange food combinations but they seem to work.

Lightly toasted on the grill with spray butter and ketchup.

Mainly because that's all that's on hand, and I only eat hot dogs if they're the only thing at a tailgate. Otherwise I spring for sausage and a beer bath.

I haven't had a good hot dog in awhile.
I'm kind of a freak about them, though.
Sure, I like chili-cheese dogs, and love Chicago dogs, but my one true favorite type of hot dog, the kind of hot dog I actually crave, is what I call a Campfire dog.
Hot dog roasted over an open fire (preferably on the end of a stick, lol), on a soft bun with a squiggle of ketchup on the bun, and a squiggle of mustard on top of the hot, juicy, slightly charred hot dog. MMMMMMMMMMMM, DO WANT. It's the perfect hot dog.

I boil the dogs and put a wire sieve on the top of the pot. Buns get steamed while the dogs cook. My favorite toppings are spicy brown mustard, pickled jalapenos, chow chow relish, pimento cheese, crushed potato chips, and celery salt.
