That's about half of the cheese selection. There is a staffed cheese counter too as well as a fresh mozzarella station. Mozz made daily right there.

oh cool. I have always wanted to go. My parents went there last time they visited NYC, they didn't take pictures though.

Cool, man. I went there with my dad when he was in town a couple weeks ago. What did you buy?

Yeah I was like well... Imma take pics for /ck/ this time. It always fucking packed... It's a pain.

Some olives. I was on the way to Terakawa Ramen for dinner so I popped in.

>> No.4314622

>>4314458

I usually get either the mortadella, the olive oil poached tuna, or the panuozzo. Also, the rosticceria (closer to the fish counter) has some pretty awesome sandwiches.

>>4314589

If you get there before 12 or between 3 and 5, it's not bad.

Cool tuna sounds like a go for next time. I'm gonna go at like 4 next time. Thanks!

fucking disgusting precooked lobster

>> No.4317268

>>4317255

They have live ones in a tank to the right of where he was standing when he took the picture. But yeah, I don't know why anyone would buy precooked lobster. They never used to have it, I think they felt they were losing sales because there are so many tourists at the store who are staying in hotel rooms; this probably overcomes the "but we can't cook that" excuse.

all of my regular grocery stores offer free cooking for lobsters and I think shellfish

>> No.4317300

>>4317290

This isn't really a regular store; almost all of the "grocery" items are complimentary to the restaurant next to the display case. You could say each promotes the other, but for the most part they don't overlap.

Here's the menu for the fish restaurant attached to that fish counter

it seems like a nice place, but in my book eating boiled lobster is low class

I can't even imagine the garbage the people are making when they bring home a pre boiled/steamed lobster

>You throw a LIVE lobster in BOILING WATER?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! How the HECK is that humane? I thought slaughterhouses were the worst we could get (besides murder) but now it's like "murder at your own house!"
>I cannot believe that! I was floored and almost started crying right there.

Imagine being so bored that you register for a forum so you can post amateur hour troll posts like that.

Well, here I am posting on /ck/ on a Friday night so I guess it's just a question of priorities.

me again, got a prosciutto sandwich and a porchetta sandwich. $13 and change. Not bad at all. Very rich meat and the spicy uh... vinaigrette? that came on the porchetta was a nice touch.

it's some kind of pickled veggie mix, not vinagrette. and yeah their cold porchetta is really good.
