Anyone ever freeze buttermilk? Okay for biscuits?

Bumping for interest.

I'll buy buttermilk for marinating and whatnot, but even if I buy a small carton I never seem to be able to use it all before it goes bad.

I hate being wasteful, so, freezing it would be awesome.

Out of desperation, I once froze butter when I realized there was no way I was going to use it all in time. It worked great.

Of course you can freeze butter! I thought that was common knowledge.

If you want amazing flaky biscuits you use frozen butter in them.

But why would you freeze something that delicious? Just drink what you don't use in cooking.

Drink it.

...You drink it? I've only ever heard of it as a cooking ingredient. I didn't know it could be enjoyed just as a plain beverage.

You can freeze, when you unfreeze the fat will seperate. If you're drinking it, just blend it back up, if you're using it for baking it won't make a difference.

It's like milk but low fat and a bit sour. It's pretty healthy. You can pour it over cereals too. I like to drink a bit of it it as a "snack" in the evening to keep me from the chips and chocolate.

Dairy products actually freeze quite well. When I was strapped for cash and couldn't find someone to take me for dinner I'd end up at this place for "gay male sex workers" and I was always pissed because the milk was always frozen solid and everyone'd drink it as it thawed. I rarely got to have any, but that's how I found out.

Yoghurt, cheese, milk, custard, probably cream and buttermilk likely freeze quite nicely, too.

I drink it. It's like milk with pickles in it.
