What's for dinner, /ck/? I tried my hand at a proper pasta bolognese and it turned out really well... but I added a little too much cheese, as usual. Not pictured: olive oil and parmesan garlic bread.

Also, I hate these plates.

That's an odd recipe, why not skip out section one and add it in over the cooked mince in section 2? Then it merges all the flavour and saves on a whole extra pan.

I usually don't follow it word for word. The only thing I make in a separate pan is the meat, which I really could just cook beforehand in the same pot and save it for later. I also add black pepper and parmesan for pasta sauce or oregano and crushed red pepper if I'm using it as pizza sauce.

That's five spices and chicken. You mean 'mu pa lo.' Also, neither of those is particularly common in Thai/Lao cuisine, but more in Khmer and Viet. In Thailand, it's more often to have ped pa lo (duck with five spices). You also forgot to mention that caramelisation and the fish sauce, farang.

The sauce on top, sadly, reminds me of the spaghetti I used to cook at home, when I had a home. I used to buy bags of shredded parmesan/romano and it sometimes ended up looking like that.

I guess in the future I'd have to invest in a hand grater.

How nice of you to feel bad for me. Very kind.

I have never in my life had a pahse like that. The thing is I believe the meat industry is absolutely horrible and I do not wish to contribute to it. I have never been a big fan of meat anyway, when I still ate it.
Speaking of limitations, I haven't had any limitations in the kitchen yet. Instead I've been eating tastier, healthier and more varied than ever.

Do you guys really not understand what the whole vegan-/vegetarianism stands for? It's not about disliking the taste of meat. It's for the most part about not eating it, because you believe the animals should be free and not slaughtered just to end up on your plate. It is possible to live on a 100% vegan diet and still get the taste of meat and texture of meat without any animals killed for it. So why kill them when you don't have to?
