Dear /ck/ lets discuss the superiority of almond milk

>> No.4246585

almost milk is lactose free so everyone can drink it

it is also free of soy so no more soy tummy aches

>> No.4246588

it LASTS LONGER than milk. Unopened it is good for over a month or two.

>> No.4246592

oh man and almond milk tastes so good!
it is creamy and soothing like milk, but not thick like whole milk and not thin like 1%

before almond milk I rarely included milk in my diet because i am lactose intolerance only to a lot of dairy (like a lot of cheese or more than a cup of milk)....
now I feel great and almond milk has made me comfortable with milk again

>> No.4246594

>>4246582
enjoy paying three times the price of even the nice organic milk asswipes

>> No.4246595

I like to put it into my coffee, and consume it with cornflakes when I run out of ordinary milk.

>> No.4246596

i like it because i don't like the american dairy industry and their historically vicious intolerance of any sort of milk substitute. there's also the 'real california milk' bs, i don't give a shit where the cow happened to lactate and it doesn't have anything to do with the quality of this ice cream or whatever

>> No.4246601

PLUS there are a lot of health benefits
>50% more calcuim
>get vitamins n shit like vitamin E
>no cholesterol

>> No.4246603

>>4246594
half gallon of almond milk = 3.00
gallon on milk = 3.00
almond milk is usually on sale buy one get one 50% off or ever for free
buy 2, save 1 unopened in the fridge
it lasts for 2 months
>not wasting money
>buying milk wastes money, i would not drink or use it

>> No.4246604

Doesn't even taste at all like real milk. Like, zero similarity. It tastes like watered down rehydrated powdered milk, with a bit of almond flour mixed in.

It's also really low in protein, one of the best parts of milk or soy milk.

Can't use it for baking or cooking, basically just cereal and I guess drinking if you're some kind of nazi war criminal who likes the taste of ghost cum.

>> No.4246607

it isn't cows milk and unlike regular milk this stuff is good for human consumption.

I have a housemate who lifts, he obsesses over milk, totally falls for their marketing. I asked him one thing that was good about milk other than vitamin D and calcium (admitting though there are some good macronutrients in it but the good doesn't make the bad parts about milk irreverent) and he couldn't name any.

Buying almond milk wastes money, I would not drink this tree semen.

Silk is akshully owned by Dean Foods which is one of the largest milk distributors in the U.S.
BUT for every gallon of almond or soy milk you buy that is one less gallon of dairy milk.

This. If almond milk had protein I'd drink it all the time, but since it doesn't, I don't see the point in it and would rather just eat almonds.

tree semen sounds amazing. In fact, I love maple syrup.

it's almonds grounded down into a dust/powder and then water is added

should be called almond water; i've never had it but it's probably shit

i tried it once. put some in my morning tea and the shit would not mix, floating particles everywhere. maybe it was a shit brand but i've stuck with soy ever since

I notice two different kinds, the small ones with a long expiration time unless opened, and larger containers in the refrigerated milk section with an expiration date similar to the opened stuff.

No clue what it's about.

Also, I love vanilla almond milk with cereal.

>> No.4246690

Almond Milk tastes like shit. I do not like that subtle bitter nutty taste at all.

What does rice milk taste like? More milkish than almond milk?

>> No.4246697

the only thing I used milk for was mac and cheese. I staring using silk vanilla a few months ago, I like the vanilla hit it adds.

Rice milk tastes like very subtly flavored water. I'm actually strangely rather fond of the stuff.

that is weird because the refrigerated section of mine has almond milk that has expiration dates set for months in advance
maybe your supermarket does not sell many and puts the almost expired ones next to the milk for funzies.

but i do see it both refrigerated and non, I think its the same and does not need to be kept cold unless it's opened

Tasteless at best and repellent at worst?

Man, I kinda feel bad for you. The experience of drinking clean, unadulterated, slightly cooled water after running a mile or more on a hot, dry day is one of the most intensely pleasurable feelings a human can experience. I mean, it's up there with orgasm, pissing after holding it for a long time, and scratching poison ivy. But drink anything other than cool water and you won't get it. Anyways, even at more mundane times, water is still something that can be enjoyed.

i love all the milks

>> No.4250939

Nope.
Regular Milk > Unsweetened Soy > Almond Milk

My reason for this is that they sweeten the fuck out of every almond milk that is worth a single fuck. I have never in my FUCKING LIFE been able to find the unsweetened almond milk which OP has in his image. I've looked everywhere. I've asked places to stock unsweetened almond milk if they can. Been to all the local groceries, Whole Foods, Sprouts. NOTHING. It's like my white fucking whale. So as much as I would like to love almond milk, fucking can't. Not until unsweetened becomes popular enough to demand some shelf space.

sorry to hear this unsweetened almond milk is all i ever buy.
I agree though i would never buy chocolate or vanilla or any flavoring besides unsweetened, it is far too sweet.
