Gute nacht /ck/. Let us all discuss everything that is Bavarian in this thread here. What is your favorite Bavarian dish? Do you prefer sweet, spicy or a mild mustard on your weißwurst? Do you enjoy sipping a maß of weihenstephaner hefeweissbier or franziskaner weissbier in the beer garden? Please take off your jacket and sit down with me for a while.

Actual Bavarian reporting in.
Weißswurst only goes with sweet mustard, nothing else.
I prefer the "Helles" type of bavarian beer like Augustiner.

>>4235339
Honestly I don't know if there's any official non alcoholic drink here, Apfelschorle is a good guess, but I think it's popular all around Germany.
We have Radler, which is Helles with some kind of Sprite-like soda - really refreshing on hot days.

I'll stick around for more answers the next half hours if there are any questions, and yes, I am this bored.

Man, I remember being stationed in the army in Germany and thinking Radler sounded bad.

As soon as I tried one, I changed that immediately.

franziskaner is pretty good stuff, but pretty expensive here in the states. Most American hefes are dreadful, but this is one of the few I've had where they seem to get it.

Nice to hear that. I hope you enjoyed your stay.

>>4235430
Not really. Bavaria is economically the most powerful federal state in Germany. Statistics say that we have the best education and living standard here (under 3% unemployment rate)
I'm from Munich, but I also know the more rural parts of Bavaria where people are less open minded, but they are overall really friendly. I have more problems getting along with the arrogant rich brats from Munich city. I can't stand them.

Expat Bavarian in the US here.

>What is your favorite Bavarian dish?
That would probably be classic Schweinsbraten (Pork Roast) with dumplings and red cabbage. A close second is Wiener Schnitzel (which is not traditionally bavarian, I know). Also bratwursts on a spicy, crusty Regensburg bun ("Schwarzer Kipferl") with sauerkraut and sweet mustard.

>Do you prefer sweet, spicy or a mild mustard on your weißwurst?
Definitely sweet. No excuses.

>Do you enjoy sipping a maß of weihenstephaner hefeweissbier or franziskaner weissbier in the beer garden?
I usually drink Helles like Eichhofener, Augustiner or Tegernseer. Whenever i drink weissbier, however, I prefer Schneider Weißbier or Franziskaner.

>mfw I wont be in Regensburg for Palmator Bock Beerfest

I pretty much love people from all German regions - only exceptions are Berliners and Saxonians. You just gotta hate their dialects.

Naaah Bavaria is a cool guy and doesn't afraid of anything. Also I never got shit telling anyone in Berlin that I'm from Bavaria. They just have the wrong image and are surprised that I don't wear lederhosn.

>>4235479
I would not recommend you Munich. There are more interesting and less expensive cities in Germany.
Freiburg is a really great city, Berlin is just amazing. Dresden Leipzig also start booming culturally.
