Take that.
Drain and reserve brine.
Chop chilies into rings; set aside.
Get Asian-style red hotdogs and slice them diagonally into thin, elongated discs.
Thinly slice an onion.
Heat some oil in a pan.
Add onion and chilies.
Sauté a minute or two.
Add hotdog slices.
Sauté a minute or two.
Add oyster sauce.
Sauté a minute; meanwhile, mix some cornstarch with the chili brine.
Add chili brine/cornstarch slurry.
Cook until thickened, adding sugar if/as necessary (I like it without; I think the oyster sauce adds plenty of sugar and salt, too).
Serve with rice.

Pinoy hotdog escabeche, the trashiest meal I eat fairly regularly.

i hated using bread for hotdog buns when i was younger. there wasn't a grocery store nearby and i wasn't old enough to drive, i'd be home alone and we'd just have hotdogs or some other equally non-nutritious food, but never any hotdog buns. the damn bread always gets soggy, mushed and compressed and it never stays folded up after you take a bite; the bread always opens up and the damn hotdog rolls off the bread (and usually onto the floor). i specifically do not buy hotdogs for this reason, because if i run out of buns and have to use bread i'm going to have a serious mental breakdown

WTF, I live right next to Mexico and we don't have this. Only green, with one or two red slices occasionally found within the hundreds of green ones. Even if it tastes the same, I love the color. Always pick the red ones out of the fresh selection.
