Anyone else enjoy doing late night cooking?

It's 3 in the morning on a weekday and i'm about to make a pan fried steak. (I know it's obviously a different time of the day for a lot of you)

I'm not going to lie, i've had a few drinks so i'm not going for something too complicated.

I'm in need of additional ideas while I wait for it to defrost though.

Spices? Simple side dishes?

Eating a steak like this seems like a bit of a waste if i'm just going to cook it plain.

I guess everyone's too busy talking about ramen & their favorite beer.

I used to do that then I became a fucking fat ass.

It's okay, OP. It's 3a here too. Creamed spinach and roasted tomatoes are good side dishes to steak.

Keep cooking. If you pass out and set the house on fire, make sure you post pics.

Don't be a dumb fuck and just use pepper like every other person.

This.

OP how much do you weigh? You're going to become fat if you keep eating like that.

I'm 6'2 and weigh 180lbs.

I usually make healthier snacks at night but today I just said screw it. I'm no bodybuilder but i'm definitely not fat.

Don't have spinach but roasted tomatoes sounds like a great idea. I've got some small tomatoes in the fridge I could cook up as well.

What about sea salt? I was thinking of salting it with kosher sea salt for an hour before I cook at it but it's a decent cut of meat.

I am planning on enjoying this steak - and there's nothing you can do about it good sir.

Lats time I made steak it was awful so I can't give you any advice OP :(

>> No.4157046

Just finished the steak.

I went with

and just used freshly ground pepper corns.

I also salted it for 40 minutes after I did a bit of googling.

Giving it a 10 minute rest period and will report back.

It's okay anon, i'm pretty new to cooking steak so anything over the usual stuff I do on the barbeque is probably a step up.

I can barely type, i'm listening to Symphony #9 by Beethoven right now while I began to eat this steak.

Tears of joy have flooded my eyes.

This is truly the closest I have ever felt to a god.

I hope that you savor that one moment you had in which you truly enjoyed the food you were eating anons.

It was so worth it.
