Hey coo/ck/s,

I'm currently pretty sick. I've been vomiting all day, and haven't had anything to eat. What sort of food would be easy for me to stomach, given my condition?

Toast, rice, applesauce, broth. That kind of stuff.

Ginger tea, or peppermint tea. Both are mild and good for nausea. Or, brush your teeth. The minty freshness is surprisingly good for nausea.

Other than that, what the other guy said - rice and dry toast.

No dairy, just plain, beige foods, bread, pasta, just stuff like that. Crisps might help, they'll replenish salt lost from being sick and diarrhoea.

When I get sick like that I usually sip gatoraid until I feel safe enough for solids, then I have plain white rice.

cod with no spices served with rice or boiled potatoes

Never really had gatorade before. What advantages would it have over water, or ginger tea?

So, salt is good? Would I be able to kill two birds with one stone by having rice with soy sauce?

Also, thanks everyone for your responses, I'm hoping I will be capable of eating soon.

When I get sick enough to eat nothing all day I'll usually have one piece of dry white toast, and if I feel ok in about 30 minutes I'll have another.

Incidentally, when I feel better the next day I'll make something huge like a fat burrito full of spanish rice and steak. The funny thing is that even thought that might be my favorite self-prepared food, I never look forward to it because of how bad I feel.

Haha, oh man, that last line gave me a good laugh.

I might make some toast soonish and see how I go. Not particularly feeling like eating, but I know I should.

In that situation I usually stick to saltines and ginger tea, maybe some toast.

>> No.4146870

No, do not eat. You will vomit again. Go to sleep and after that you can try eating.

Take very tiny sips of water to stay hydrated. Other than that, nothing.

Gatoraid, or any sports drink, will help you restore salt and electrolytes. They're great for regaining energy and losing that weak shakiness.

7-Up soda. Chicken boullion (sp). Plain elbow macaroni, in small amounts. Honeydew melon, cantalope, watermelon. For me, toast and rice just make things worse; dunno why; YMMV.
