Why does everyone I know make such a big fucking deal out of cracking eggs?

It's not rocket science.

I crack mine with my finger like I'm knocking on a door, then hook my thumbs inside the tiny hole and dump the yolk and white inside whatever-the-fuck. People are always super impressed by this for some reason.

haha! i love infomercials. i remember watching an infomercial where this one mom spilled food all over the dinner table or something and the kids and dad were looking at her like she was a fucking moron and shaking their heads and the mom was all like, "there has to be an easier way!"

Why is that? I have some mixing bowls with nice edges. Never had an issue with it when cracking eggs.

Man I fucking love Jackie Chan cartoons.

I crack mine in a strainer, then use a pastry cutter to push it through the holes. Then I just bang out the strainer into my kitchen composter.

You would not believe the looks I get from scrubs when I cook for them, like they're seeing a caveman invent the wheel for the first time.

If you use an edge it increases the chances of breaking small pieces of the shell into the cracked egg. Apparently there is less of a risk of little bits of egg getting into your food if your crack on a flat surface.....or so I have read, anyway.
