What does /ck/ put in their oatmeal? Personally I've been putting in dates, apples, and a bit of cinnamon and its fucking awesome.

Oatmeal is shit tier.

>> No.4034900

Peanut butter, cinnamon sugar, basically whatever's handy and sounds good.

>> No.4034904

Nothing can save oatmeal. Anything you put in it is wasted.

>> No.4034907

Caramelising the apples with sugar and then adding cinnamon makes for a god tier breakfast. Otherwise I just use whatever's cheap and easy. Usually fresh fruit, brown sugar, and with milk.

>> No.4034916

cinninmon
brown sugar
peanut butter
you favorite nut (walnut here)
chocolate chips
bit of milk
salt ( it does make a difference)

OP, i eat mine dry, right out of the box, mixed with some wheat germ and raisins.

great way to start the day.

Sometimes I cook brown sugar with a bit of salt and water, add chopped walnuts and pecans, and caramelize them. Makes a great addition to oatmeal with a pinch of cinnamon.

I eat oatmeal or oat bran almost every morning as a part of my weight loss plan. Some of the combinations lately have been: pumpkin butter and cinnamon, peaches and sunflower butter, bananas and flaxseed, blueberries and a dollop of Greek yogurt, etc. Fucking delicious, and hopefully lowering my cholesterol

god-tier lingonberry jam.

Honestly,

if /ck/ ever gets a sticky like /fit/ or other boards, OATMEAL and all our accumulated, greed-upon combinations of toppings needs o be one of the main sections.

This has to be one of the most-frequently asked questions on this board.

To answer the question: I usually just put a little salt and a little coconut oil (the scent is unbelievable). I think I actually have an emotional attachment to the smell of melting coconut oil in oatmeal. Such a comfy smell

A bit of almond milk, sliced banana, and I sprinkle a little cinnamon and brown sugar on top. Pretty simple but I like it a lot.

Maple syrup. And I mean maple syrup, not the flavored corn syrup Aunt Jemima crap. Or currant jelly.

Cali... probably have to order from Amazon or some foody place; I don't think Cali has maple trees.

And yeah, it's expensive. Worth it.

Normally I eat oatmeal with a wee bit of sugar and raisins. Sometimes I might use fresh banana.

>> No.4035640

salt
teaspoonful amount of butter
and a little bit of sugar

>> No.4035742

Caramelized bananas and peanut butter (along with salt, which is always a given in my oatmeal) is a great combo. Letting the oats soak water overnight along with some raisins (which plump) is also great. And no matter the ingredients, I ALWAYS toast the dry oats to a nice golden color before adding to the water; it brings out the nutty flavor.

There are some weird things I'd like to try. For instance, what about cooking oats with freshly-brewed coffee instead of water? And what about using refrigerated leftover oats in smoothies to add flavor and thickness?

>> No.4035759

Peanut butter and molasses.
It's not even that good, but my dad used to make it for me so whenever it's cold outside I make it.

I have my oatmeal uncooked. I just put the oats in my mouth, then drink some tea or coffee to soften it up. I can't stand the look and texture of oatmeal that has been cooked.

How to make perfect oats?
I usually put some milk, start the fire, when it's getting hot pour the oats.
Stir until it's boiling, lower the fire, keep stiring a few minutes and eat it.
I usually add sugar or dulce de leche.

most brands stuff their müsli with sugar and unhealthy crap. It's a lot better to make your own. Not saying you don't, just saying brand müsli isn't that healthy.
