This list is fucked.

>Fettucini alfredo, Italy
Actually it was made in USA, just because it is found in American Italian restaurants doesn't make it a native Italian dish.

>43. Fajitas, Mexico
Nope. This is Texas. Made by Mexican Texans, yes. Eaten in some parts of Mexico, yes. But it originated in Texas.

>42. Hamburger, Germany
NOPE. This is American, no argument.

These are the only fuck ups I can see but I am sure there are many more with foods and countries I am less familiar with. The whole article is complete utter shit, man.

I read in Maxim years back that pad thai was invented in Greenwich Village in the 70's. Were those idiots fucking with me?

>> No.4007363

Holy moly. The one thing this list promotes is the writer's field of experience - white American suburban upbringing, sheltered white collar work life, and "worldly experience" from vacationing in the most superficial of south-east Asian tourist traps.

To be fair, most of the US ones are lip service as its probably a US blog. I mean, ice cream is ancient, as is frying chicken.

Also, the entire top ten is Asian cuisine so it's hardly a serious list. Just a bit of fun.

Dem moneys mang. A lot of people have invested in that corporation. As a result, a lot of people are both backing it, as well as believing what they pawn off as news because they have money riding on it so they can't even entertain the possibility of them being wrong.

Shit's funny.

The stereotypical American, to the majority of the world, is the fat lazy nascar fan. Yes there are people living there who have good taste, but if I look at that poll im not going to think that the more sophisticated pople of the country are going to be voting on it, because its a stupid internet poll. I also think its true that the English have a generally poor taste, and wouldnt trust a "50 best foods" on BBC news. Why am I even typing this this is a troll thread

You stated opinion and stereotype. In the previous post the phrase was literally "established fact", that terminology is an intentional lie meant to incite angry insults. If the person who stated that was trying to actually state his true opinion, it gives a look at that persons own crushing insecurities with his own home country.

Now that aside, watching Fox News and assuming that's how the country is, is like me getting my opinions of British from what we hear about Chavs, Or Mexicans from stories of drug cartels. If you lived in either of these countries, and imagined a scenario where someone generalized your entire country based on a 1%, vocal population, you can imagine the confusion when people state that it is "established fact" regardless of the meaning of those words. Which is ironic when that person was arguing how dumb and tasteless Americans are.

Now I can imagine the posts after this are going to be mocking and trollish, because even attempting to respond to someone logically on 4chan is just an exercise in futility, but I've had too many beers tonight to care.

being as how the top ten are all asian, and about half of the top ten are thai, i'd say the list is not really based on any poll, and definitely not a poll with many americans.

looks like they might have had a poll, and the the author created his own list.
