Yep and to pay bills, im thinking of becoming part of the night crew because they don't do anything. Not to sound like a douche but my job is pretty much the worst one available they're.

>> No.3869615

>they're
never mind about college, kid

how much do you make? how many hours a week?

>> No.3869617

>>3869613
TBH warehousing tends to pay better, has better hours and you don't deal with customers. How I did it myself.

>> No.3869623

>>3869615
I make around $8.50 an hour and i usually get like 40 hours a week. But if its the middle of the month my hours are cut because we are not as busy, and for some reason we hire like 2 new baggers a month even when we have to many already.

>> No.3869627

I always use the self checkout and bag my own food at Kroger. Does it make you feel obsolete when customers do this?

>> No.3869631

>>3869627
Less work i gotta do. Also we just got our self checkout like two months ago so nobody uses it because everyone's lazy as hell.

why do you high school fucks always forget my food? and also you guys suck at bagging. kill yourself.

>> No.3869640

I would suggest self checkout for people like you. Also the bags we get fucking suck, one out of five usually rip.

if i want to bag my own food, i'd be down at the farmer's market. kroger bags are no worse than walmart bags, which is to say, they're fine. the kroger here is renowned for lazy ass service and overpriced foods. i can't wait for walmart to open down the street in 2014.

>> No.3869646

>>3869631

My local Kroger has 8 of the large self checkouts with the rotating bag holder, and 4 of the smaller, 15 items or fewer self-checkouts. There are only 2 or 3 actual, clerk operated lanes open at any given time, and they all close after about 9 or 10pm. Self checkout only after that time.

Of course a few months ago they began upgrading to the new Kroger Marketplace layout. I'm assuming your store is smaller?

I sometimes buy Prestige brand liquor. Is that a Kroger generic brand? I've never seen it anywhere else.

>> No.3869658

To be only a moderately sized city we have a WalMart, Kroger, Save-a-lot, and a Meijer. We had a Food Lion, a Winn Dixie and an E.W. James in the past but they all closed.

I don't know where you're from, OP, but that word sends up red flags around my parts. Krogers tend to only be found in ghettos and hoods, around here. Same with Sav-way and Compare Foods.

Nah, Kroger is pretty common in the mid/southeast US. They definitely market to an upscale crowd, depending on location.

>> No.3869867

>>3869815

They're in lots of other places too, but marketing under a different brand that was traditional to the area (though these stores all carry generic Kroger-named products. Examples are Ralph's in SoCal, Fry's in Arizona, Smith's in Northern Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, and Fred Meyer and QFC in Washington and Oregon.

It was like that at the supermarket I worked at.

I worked night crew 4 years ago, I was 17 at the time and thought a night shift would be so great because I was an antisocial fuck like you at the time. Worst job I ever had. Two nights a week I literally spent my entire 8 hour shift walking up and down the aisles and pulling product to the front of the shelves and making it look pretty.

The entire store. Alone.

FUCK. I get mad just thinking about it. Keep the job you have, at least you get to interact with people. Or don't listen to me and do it anyway. You will appreciate getting to interact with other humans even faster that way.

That kind of a shitty attitude. Kroger is one of the last stores that have an employee union. Maybe it is shit nowadays, i don't know, but its definitely not a walmart.

Be careful what you wish for, you might end up re-employed by someone who pays less and cares even lesser.
