What did you eat today /ck/?
Share your meal pics, please.

This thread is to post food from around the world to build a mutual understanding of each others culture.

Do not talk about racial discrimination.
Don't slander a poster.

I left out the brandy essence/alcohol and just placed raspberries on the top to make it family friendly but here's the recipe it's from a Coles brand cook book:

175g granita biscuits
80g butter melted
275g philadelphia cream cheese
3/4 cup caster sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
300ml sour cream
150g blueberries
250g raspberries
250g strawberries
2Tbs caster sugar, extra
2Tbs Cointreau or Orange Brandy Essence

preheat oven to 160C and grease a 20cm spring form cake pan, process biscuits into fine crumbs then add butter and mix to combine. Then press mixture over the base of a prepared pan. Place in freezer for 10 minutes or until firm.
Using electric mixer, beat cream cheese intil smooth. Add caster sugar and vanilla beating until light and creamy. Add eggs one at a time mixing after each addition.
Reduce speed to low and add sour cream mixing gently until just combined, do not over mix. Pour into prepared pan.
Place onto baking tray and cook in preheated oven for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours or until cake is firn to touch in the centre, leave oven door half open and allow cake to cool completely.
Ten minutes before serving combine all berries in a large bowl and sprinkle with extra caster sugar and Cointreu and mix gently to combine. Serve sliced cake topped with berries and juices.

My girlfriend takes a picture of everyting she eats and posts it on instagram. It's the faggiest thing I've ever seen in my life.

I'm trying to learn how to cook for myself. I'm home from college and my parents left town. They took pretty much all the food in the house with them. I found a pork tenderloin that was two months past it's sell by date in the back of the freezer and a can of pinto beans buried in the pantry. I grilled the pork. It was charred on the outside but undercooked on the inside. I also forgot to oil the grill up so some of it stuck to it. I microwaved the pork for 3 minutes and it was great. The beans were easy to heat up on the stove and I made some salad to go with it. I was proud of how well it turned out but I had made enough food to feed four people. Most of it is in my refidgerator.

OP's marxist "yay diversity" bullshit disgusts me.

However, food is the best example of something that varies from people to people, given what grows in their areas, and can be appreciated universally by other peoples (everyone's gotta eat). Still, some cultures are more developed than others (American fusion, Wolfgang Puck's improvements to French Cuisine, Japanese Kobe beef, classic Italian, etc are way ahead of anything South American or African).

Come to think of it...I like Greek food and their culture has a long and history with periods of high development. What's an example of a 5-star greek dish?

I'm trying to keep calories down but it's too hot to cook. And I always want to eat when bored, hence carrots. I also have an apple with a glass of water if bored or hungry. I keep wanting cookies but I always eat them all in one sitting.

I have chicken I might make tomorrow but I forgot to separate it so it'll have to unthaw.... otherwise I could likely eat an apple + water for breakfast and turkey burger + lettuce + bread + mustard for dinner with carrots/green pepper/banana inbetween every day until the burgers run out. >> No.3728330

Breakfast: Baked eggs with toast and extra scrambled on the side.

Lunch: Chicken caesar baguette

Dinner: Had my parents over and cooked them Ling witha sauce of cream, shitake mushrooms, saffron, leek and white wine alongside spicy seasoned wedges and a salad of strawberries and pear tossed with baby spinach leaves and topped with a balsamic vinaigrette and crumbly blue vein cheese.

I'm sorry it didn't occur to me to take piccies (I'm new to this board), but today was a good day.

First I`m going to cut up three onions. Then I roast them in the pot with some butter. Then I`m going to add a pound of ground meat (half pork/half beef) and some salt, black pepper and paprika. When its all well cooked, I will add 500ml of pasted tomatoes plus some more salt, pepper, paprika and a spoon of sugar and let it simmer on low heat for 45 minutes.

it varies.

I, for one, read a shitload of recipes to get the general idea of how they work. Then I pick one, adapt sa I feel I will like better. If it turned good I take notes of what I did and add it to my recipe binder.

The binder becomes the building blocks for future meal planning/grocery shopping.

>> No.3742052

Your meal sounds very nice as well.

I think a big importance is how much you enjoy the food that you eat and how much you want to enjoy your food. If you don't feel like letting yourself enjoy your food, you'll just whip up something that is simply food rather than an enjoyable experience. Find the kinds of foods and eating scenarios that you like best and indulge in them a little. The more you enjoy your food and the more satisfaction you can gain from it, the more your cooking habits will change to satisfy your wants.

I usually get cravings for a certain type of food. This week it's 'American style' so I'm using a recipe for blue cheese burgers that I found during a previous crave, a recipe for coleslaw I looked for on Wikipedia, and I'm also adding a tomato and sugar Chinese salad which I think would complement the dishes, which I learned from my mother.

For me, a lot of what I do is a mixture of recipes I find online, what I've learned from my parents, and what I feel like making up.

An adult taste is capable of appreciating many different forms of flavour, consistency and aroma. A child's taste is BAWW IT DIDN'T TASTE LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE. And even worse is a faggot who goes around propagating this idiotic waste of food. Especially common among American "Italians", shitheel goombas who cannot appreciate the fact that in pasta, the main ingredient is supposed to be pasta, not the meat and fat laden pseudo-ketchup they drown it in.

Underdeveloped evolutionary throwbacks, all of them.

I know I know... I usually flip them over, fry a little more, and then serve. But since i'm the only one eating them and was hungry already, I opted for the faster option of just throwing them on the plate. Still tasted good.

As for the skins, that's the only part not handmade. I've never really tried to make skins because I hear it's incredibly hard to get them thin and uniform.
