If "choosey moms choose Jiff", what exactly makes it superior? Peanut butters can vary drastically in taste and consistency, so what makes it the best?

>> No.20824121

It's full of sugar so kids will eat it without complaint. That's why choosy moms choose gif.

I just buy what's cheap. Right now, that's Peter Pan, 99¢/jar.
Only people I know to be particular on peanut butter are healthtards who think 10g of sugar in a day will kill them and Indonesians, who strongly gravitate towards Reese's for some fucking reason.

They have an "organic" option that has "no added sugar," which is what I usually go for. No idea how legit it is, but it's not sickeningly sweet like most peanut butter I've tried.

The only peanut butters that aren't the same shit in different packaging are the overpriced natural peanut butter bins. Even brands that used to just be peanuts and salt have added oil fillers.

>fillers
They're not fillers, tho. The oils're sprayed onto the raw peanuts before roasting so that they roast faster and with less fuel. That's it. It's not a filler, it's a timesaver. A shitty timesaver, but a timesaver nonetheless. Although if you think about it: when you're roasting a million bajillion peanuts every thirty-two seconds, any time saved helps considerably in an economy of scale sort of way. Someone roasting raw peanuts at home can afford the five minute or however long it saves difference but for a manufacturer, that time difference could be tens of thousands of dollars spent.
That's why >>20824623 makes it a point to say that their peanuts are dry roasted vs >>20824141 which omits that qualifier. >>20824141 are oil roasted.
Of course, being a helpful and knowledgeable post, this will go ignored because people would rather parrot whatever their in-group squawks than actually learn anything.
Enjoy your day. :3

I've hated peanut butter since I was a kid but I'm trying to break that because picky eating is a sin and I'm missing out on the nutritional density. I've realized that besides the texture of the smooth variety, what I hate is the added sugar and especially salt, so I've been trying 100% nut butters and they're alright albeit expensive. The cult of sweet and salty is strong.

Why is it so hard to find decent peanut butter in the US? Even the stuff that claims to be natural is full of emulsifiers and poisons so the oil doesn't separate. When you finally do find some where the only ingredient is peanuts, it comes in a dainty little jar and costs $7. Here in leafland I can get a 1kg tub of natural peanut butter for $10.

Peanut butter is already an unnatural product. Peanuts aren't butter they are nuts. It needs emulsifiers so it doeesn't become an oily mess. Just because the word is long doesn't mean it's bad for you.

>> No.20825890

>>20824119
>exactly makes it superior?
Side by side taste tests, I believe. It's just the right mix of roasted peanut flavor, creaminess and salt but not sugar. I like the natural stuff too, but it is annoying to always stir the oil back in.
