What’s your secret pancake recipe

Pancake mix + follow directions on box. What are you gonna do, slightly change the ratio of leavener and make a huge difference that’s not utterly imperceptible? Buy the ingredients separately and combine them yourself instead of letting king arthur or bisquick or whoever do it, as if that will magically make it better?

Standard American-style pancake recipe + lemon zest.
We eat them with compote rather than maple syrup so the lemon doesn't clash.

What a bunch of losers, can't even make pancakes. My secret recipe is two cups of self rising flour, 1 cup of whole milk, 2 eggs, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1-2 teaspoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. I use my own. You can also add cinnamon or chocolate chips or w/e the fuck.

Yes. Every mix makes either flavorless bread or fake, cloying factory dessert. There is no in between. It's the same with cake mixes. The only thing they're decent at is texture, but they all fail on flavor. A good pancake should be tasty by itself, and you can't get that with any mix. Plus they're more expensive per ounce and filled with preservatives and dry powdered/faux dairy/eggs.

secret isn't the recipe, for that i just do 1 cup flour, FOUR eggs, milk to bring the egg to 1 cup, splash of lemon juice to activate the baking soda, splash of vanilla extract, tablespoon of baking soda about, tsp of salt. super basic, but the four eggs really help give it the protein energy and a denser consistency which i like.

no the SECRET is what i put on them. yogurt with honey, but i add milk to it until it's thick but runny and then absolutely drown the stack in it.
yogurt sauce is so fucking op on pancakes.
and anything really, just add milk to yogurt and season it however you want

Never tried it but sounds like a meme brand. And even if it is good, you're still paying $6 for $1 worth of ingredients plus goyslop additives. If you want protein use greek yogurt and oat flour/whole oats.

>> No.20629729

>>20629676
There's no additives and they use whole grains so there's protein in it as well; that's the shtick
It's also $8 a box on sale at Costco which has 3 bags inside
I manage to make at least 50-60 pancakes a box

>$1 worth of ingredients
lol
more like 40¢ worth
how much do you think flour costs? that shit is $1.69/5lbs, $2.49/5lbs if buying bread flour

1 cup milk 1 cup flour 1 egg
2 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp baking powder
salt+vanilla to taste

mix powders first, then add egg, then add everything else. preheat pan and pour 1/4 cup batter per pancake, or 1tbsp for mini-cakes. wa-la.
(personally, I like to use slightly less than a cup of milk, more like .9c)

20g sugar
20g walnuts or other nuts
blend together
50g all purpose flour
a bit of leavening powder
as much milk as it takes to reach a dense liquid consistency, so that the batter spreads out a bit but doesn't spread out too thin
blend again, and cook on medium heat in a very slightly buttered pan
