>Throw everything in a slow cooker with some water/stock
>Leave for 2 hours
>Add beef mince
>Leave over night on low cook setting
>Add choice of thickener to slow cooker
>Take out frozen sheets of puff or short crust pastry
>Allow to defrost until sheet is no longer frozen
>Cut pastry to appropriate size
>Place in pie maker (pic related)
>Spoon in filling from slow cooker
>Place pastry top on pie
>Turn on Pie Maker
>Leave for 10 mins
>Repeat above steps from "Cut pastry to appropriate size" until out of pie filing or pastry

I wouldn't seek out the effort of putting a nice homemade beef stew into a pastry dough.
This second step would be okay for a sweet pie, but for a stew I've been simmering for hours until tender, nah. Piecrust is like all butter and unnecessary fat calories for both a bottom and top crust, nah, I'd be using my time to be baking a corn bread, irish bread, drop biscuits, or beer bread instead... hot quick bread from the oven, or just a freshly bought crusty loaf.
This is restaurant and bakery effort, no payoff for home cooking.
