What do you cook for your cat? My kitty enjoys unseasoned meats, especially chicken, and also deli ham.

carefull with the salt on those deli meats.
honestly feeding them anything but the same thing is a problem. if they find something they like they'll stop eating what you normally feed them. use (unsalted) homecooked meals sparingly, and feed them a steady diet of the same thing routinely

Why, their saliva has even more nitrites than ours?

Just the cheese. The he goes into the corner to lick his crotch and then I finger his butthole until he screeches and then shits in his litterbox. I collect the stool sample and take a bite or two before I head off to bed.

by salt i meant sodium. a slice of ham for a 150lb human is not the same for a 3.5lb cat

The cat who hangs out at my house gets the good treats. Tasteastions or whatever it's called. That's the good stuff.

My cats eat bacon trimmings, chicken fat, they absolutely love SPAM, pork skin (raw skin, cracklings), raw shrimp, and raw beef. I just toss little pieces to them whenever I have it out

The female cats for some reason like to eat bread, sweets (cookie pieces, pannetone) and potato/corn chips

I can see diet limitations being more important when theyre young, my kitty is old now so I dont feel so bad about it

I always give my cats bacon fat too. I only give them a little, but it feels nice to share something with them. I used to have my childhood cat around who would eat anything he could get a hold of. If he saw food he wanted he would start aggressively demanding it. One time he even stole a vanilla creme cookie and chewed on it. He also liked drinking soy milk for some reason. It's also not uncommon for cats to like breads and cakes. My cat will occasionally eat angel food cake despite her normally being very picky. It's the yeast that they like the taste of. They can have a tiny bit of bread or cake if there is no chocolate, onion, or garlic in it. Just a little bite of bread or cake is okay. When I'm preparing food for my grandma's cat I usually mix up turkey and tuna and throw in a little bit of kibble as filler. She's quite the picky princess so if I add too much kibble she will throw a fit.

Usually a pattern with cats eating unusual foods is that it either contains yeast or is high in fat. There are of course outliers in this, like my dad's old cat having a preference for lettuce, or my childhood cat liking soy products. Just make sure that when feeding your kitties treats that there is not too much sodium content, there is no onion or garlic, no chocolate, and that you are not feeding them too much of something they cannot properly digest such as excess plant matter or baked goods.
