Atleast 3 japanese foodtubers that I follow have had this kind of incident. Is whale meat that "normal" in Japan to eat?

Isn’t it supposed to taste really unpleasant without a lot of special prep work? For a country that seems to pride itself on a connection to nature it seems stupid to kill whales and dolphins when there’s so much other stuff to eat. It’s the unfortunate side of tradition (aka vicarious living resulting in stagnation) that enshrines stupidity.

Dunno, the closest I've come is eating a marmot, the nearest living relative to whales.... whales are commonly known as "marmots of the sea".... like the old Japanese proverb says:
>ニコ・アヴォガドぽっかりとろくでなし
Dolphins, though, they taste like Flamin Hot Cheetos and Bengay.

More so than the connection to nature, the japs pride themselves on doing a lot of prep work for even the simplest meals

I would definitely eat whale or dolphin. I don't know why people think they're cute little intelligent creatures when they have rape caves and a whale can probably feed a lot of people. They're not pets like cats or dogs. If I could, I would import that shit to see what it tastes like.

They are cute and intelligent. By your logic cats and dogs can't be cute either because cats and dogs kill things for no good reason too.

I actually wouldn't. Im not a vegetarian or vegan but i don't like eating the meat of smarter animals who have social ties and show emotions. Chicken and fish is good, pork and beef I won't eat
I guess I'm just a mammalian supremacist.

This. Consider how many other animals would have to suffer to produce the same amount of food. People are fucking retarded.
