You might think there's a downside, that most salad dressings are using soy and other garbage oils instead of olive oil now, but even Boar's Head deli dressing is mostly canola/rape. So naturally the answer is "just make your own dressing, retard". We are still trying to find the right balance of oil, vinegar, and spices, but fortunately there's really no wrong answers.

No, seriously. I don’t know the different combinations that can be put on a sub. And I dont know where to buy the bread. The only thing I can think of is french bread they sell at my local supermarket, which prbably isnt the right bread to use.

It makes me genuinely sad i could never make something like that. It makes me feel really inadequate, abnormal and stupid. I probably am, and it’s like this is why I couldn’t even work at a deli.

When i looked up videos online on how to make and wrap it the same way OP did, all i got was women making really huge hoagies and not wrapping them. I really would lovd to make deli style sandwichds at home but I don’t know where to buy the breD (what kinds of bread is used) and how to wrap them. :(

I'm the anon that posted that picture. I made the rolls. You can get decent rolls at a bakery but they're like $4 each and it's hit or miss whether the rolls the bakery sells are suitable for subs. I posted a cookalong but got pretty drunk and lazy by the end of it, you can at least see how the rolls are made.
For topping combinations, this is the sandwich I'm sick of paying $11 for at a local shop. I didn't make it up. Mortadella, Genoa salami, hot capicola, provolone cheese. Paper thin sliced white onions, tomatoes, green peppers. Dressing is olive oil, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, Parmesan cheese. The place I buy it from slices their veggies on a meat slicer, I don't have one though.

I usually shred the lettuce and put it on top, and there is thinly sliced white onion on it. I like white onion.

The reason I tried putting whole lettuce leaves on the bottom this time was for the buffalo chicken grindah, just to keep the franks from soaking through the bread too much. I liked it and it was easy so I tried that again on the italian grindah.

I usually get the store brand jalapenos which are much hotter and more vinegary, but they were sold out last time and I had to settle for el paso. funnily enough there's a whole old el paso bay in the international food sections just like in USA supermarkets. people like their mexican food kits and el paso obviously has the monopoly
