6% I concede to but the "vodka" is just the same pure grain alcohol as usual, idk why they call it that.

I usually don't go to giant eagle but I was near one today. The cashier who checked my ID for these at the express self-checkout was a morbidly obese ~50 year old woman who was openly flirting with a hobo tier black dude at the end of my lane while I was checking out. Sad but true, not in love with this one.

What is this? Strong Zeroes are supposed to be 9%. Strong Zero Dry sugarfree is the best, imo. Lemon gives me a headache.

Yeah they say it's made in Chicago using Japanese -196C liquid nitrogen technology. Still pretty good shit though, basically delivers what I wanted out of the ridiculously terrible simply lemonade seltzers which are made with stevia for some god-forsaken reason.
>>20369850
I suspect this is a marketing move and that they are pushing out with 6% first and going to introduce the classical Strong Zero product later

Obviously never tried this since I've not been to Japland but are they supposed to be sweet as shit like Mike's Hard Lemonade or Truly's? Or are they similar to Whiteclaws? I can do that overy sweet shit man, gives me heartburn.

Neither, they're relatively unsweetened but don't have that nasty over carbonated taste of a whiteclaw. Tastes like a mild sugar free lemon soda water.

>> No.20374454

>>20372944
Regular store. Regional chain grocery, Giant Eagle. There's 3 or 4 asian stores around that I go to semi-regularly and I've never seen it there.
>>20373426
Closer to the white claw side but no chemical waste flavor. Honestly couldn't even tell there was alcohol in it despite being 6%. Tastes like straight up fresh lemonade. There's a little sugar and the fruit juice but not close to a mike's or anything and no artificial sweetener stevia aspartame shit like a lot of the seltzers do. FWIW some varieties of Truly don't have any artificial sweetener or much sugar, those are pretty good and not too far off from the -196.

-196 isn't an American-style hard seltzer or a flavored malt beverage, but the weebs will go wild over it like koreaboos and their soju.

>> No.20375050

I don't think anyone actually drinks this, maybe high school kids who don't know any better or people who grab one one time for the memes. I'm fairly sure it's artificially sweetened and even more disgusting than actually just mixing sunny d and vodka into a ghetto screwdriver.
>>20374952
It's definitely better than any of the american seltzer brands, the weebs got this one right. 6% is in a weird spot though, most seltzers or light beers are 4-5% and then there's strong varieties like whiteclaw surge that go around 8-10%. Might be why they did it like this, there's really not much in this category at this abv point.

I guess they're sticking with the 6% to cut costs. I'll stick to making seltzer vodka highballs since it's cheaper imo.

>What is this?
Americans have extremely weird and regionally inconsistent alcohol laws as a result of:
>historical Prohibition
>racist Karens attempting to gentrify neighborhoods by enacting weirdly specific local regulations
As a result, trying to legally import original beverages from comparatively sane countries is a pain in the ass.

It's not Strong Zero, but its milder brother -196. It might be due to the reputation and regulations high-proof beverages have in the US, but the right answer is it saves Beam Suntory money in the long run.
