I have eaten a lot of horse. It's not bad. I'd compare it to beef but leaner.
We ate it because it was cheaper than beef. I have had many horse hamburgers and bowls of horse chili.

I've had whale once when I was a small child. I don't know if my dad cooked it wrong or what but we all hated it and eventually dug something else out of the freezer to have instead that night.

I've tried most non illegal exotic meats and game animals and there's a reason they aren't at the supermarket. Theyre all worse than beef, chicken, and pork. Turtle is the only decent one that isn't just a shitty variant of something else.

Gator is pretty good, love having it in a po boy or dipping them in sauce after bring battered and fried. Frog is pretty meh flavor wise and annoying to pick out all the little bones. I've had oxtail only once at a kinda shitty Jamaican restuarant, the meat was tender but not as flavorful as beef
