I used to buy u2-4 prawns from this fishmonger I liked. idk if they're natural or gigantic mutant freaks but being a goddamn quarter-pound each and up, they were perfect for making cutlets and sandwiches out of. Miss that shit. Too expensive now ($30/lb).

I still have both a Long John’s and a Captain D’s near me. Combined I eat at these places about 15 times a year. I prefer Long John’s but I like and go to both. My grandparents talk about how good Arthur Treachers was. It’s funny how that one is nearly extinct because supposedly that was the best one for fish and chips. You can also get fish and chips at red lobster you know (pic related)

It's kind of strange, I think that I've only seen a LJS once when I was working in Virginia. It was kind of snowy out and to Virginia people 1/16th of an inch snow shuts the Richmond area down so walked to LJS to pick up some fish & chips. It wasn't good, it wasn't bad but it was weird.
Isn't LJS the place with the bell on the wall, I vaguely remember that.

I used to live in DC and there was a pretty authentic Irish-style fish-n-chips place not far from my apartment. It was pretty good, bumped up to excellent for being so close to home. I miss that place.
