Post ripoff and scam products. I'll start with "fancy" butter.

70kcal at 10g is 8.75g of fat if the remaining stuff is water, but I guess it must be carbs or some shit so the fat may be 8.2g (as usually butters have), but this begs the question, whats the remaining 1.8g with 4.4kcal? bugs? hair? and why is there salt in the butter?

Only a pleb or tastelet cannot taste the difference between a shit butter and a great quality one.
Get the excellent french butter with hand rolled salt flakes and you will be blown away by the incredible flavor of it. 100% worth the price.

Your ignorance on butter production is staggering. Good butter goes through a culturing process where the cream is fermented before churning. Some of the bacteria used will produce additional diacetyl, which is the ester responsible for the flavor of butter. The more you know!

The last point I will make is that there is an objective difference in taste between cheap milk, and very high quality milk. Go and spend a few extra dollars on some jersey cow milk if you don't believe me.

>Social media's favorite doctor
Any time a doctor is associated with entertainment their opinions should automatically be discarded. I wish this was something new but Dr. Oz has made millions pushing nonsense to soccer moms long before social media was even a thing. Also, doctors aren't nutritionists and are often only slightly less clueless about what constitutes as healthy diet as the average american. I blame the FDA and the food industry for doing such a thorough job of polluting the pool of research papers with biased or outright false "research" that always manages to justify exactly what they're already doing. The best thing the average american can do for themselves is look up the average diet before the FDA came along and screwed everything up so badly and copy that. Or just look at countries with high life expectancies and strict food safety regulations and eat like them as best as you're able to.

I don't think you know what quality means. And I don't know why you're so angry. You seem really upset and unhappy, but I digress. The fat percentage in milk has nothing to do with the quality of the milk. The quality of the milk has to do with the practices in processing it and what the cows were fed. Your assertion implies that if somebody had high quality materials and they built a shed, it would be lower quality than if they used those same materials to build a two-story house, which isn't true. Good butter is kinda wasted on many things like a bechamel, or just frying up some veggies or meat for something else. The US must produce the milk in idk Pennsylvania then ship it 300km to new jersey where it gets turned into butter then 1000km to Kansas where it is kept in a refrigerated warehouse to load up on refrigerated trucks that get sent out all over the continent to a local grocer around 10km away from your house.

Unless you're American buying European butter. Then you must ship it on a refrigerated aircraft to cross a very shallow ocean to an importer of said butter, at which point it is then loaded onto refrigerated trucks to special order customers or once again flown via air another 5000km to somewhere else in the country.

You're not looking. New Zealand has a higher baseline standard for their dairy cows. Many grocers, most notable of these is probably trader joes, will import NZ cheeses and butter. Is it better tasting than the bottom of the barrel American dairy products? Yes. Can it compete with mid to high tier American dairy? Nope. Not even a little bit. But what it does accomplish is being very cheap for what it is. $5/lb for grass fed new Zealand sharp cheddar or raw milk cheddar or what have you. It's only slightly more than the cheapest available cheddars in the US despite being shipped halfway around the world.

I tried kerrygold on a fresh bit of italian bread compared to both salted and unsalted great value and the taste difference was huge. If I ever want good butter to just slap on some bread, kerrygold is basically the only option in my grocery store. It doesn't matter much for melting the butter and using in cooking.

>very low food safety standards
This is actually hilarious. The US practically invented food safety standards. Europe didn't really have any sort of food safety concerns until the 1990s. And it wasn't until 2002 that the EFSA was established. And guess who it was modeled after.

Despite this the only significant differences between North American and European food regulators are the initial approach when bringing new food to market, and labeling requirements of which the US is more strict.

The FDA, in American fashion (at least when it comes to food) takes an innocent until proven guilty approach. Europe is the opposite, in true modern metropolitan european fashion, requiring tons of red tape and direct approval before a new item can be sold as food.

That said in terms of quality and safety the US is 3rd in the world. However most of western Europe has a score in the 80s as well so it's not much different. There are a couple of notable exceptions to this however. The UK falls well below Russia in quality and safety of foods, and is 1 step above Japan. Italy is much lower, which I imagine the rampant organized crime is partially to blame not necessarily across the entire country.

Innocent, lol. You can buy your way out of "guilt", see the atrazine situation where the ones who make the pesticide got to define their own "quality standards" for research, disqualifying anybody who does not use gold plated equipment on diamond benches. Especially since those "standards" you contrive are applied retroactively.

Kerrygold is the highest quality butter that you can find at any regular store. It is miles better than the grocery store cheap brands, those taste like shortening in comparison. You can get better butter but you’d have to go to a specialty store or live somewhere that it’s a regional specialty.

The American one is specifically a spreadable version with oil added meant to be creamy and spreadable at fridge temp so you don't have to leave the butter out or let it warm up.

The one in that picture is the canola oil version, there is also an olive oil version, and a no-oil version.

As usual this is just eurocope manifested as struggling to understand what actual variety is.

We have that trash in Germany too and it's such a fucking pointless thing. You can literally just take normal kerrygold and knead it to make it more spreadable.
