Pilsner is a lager. It's a pale lager.
In Australia we drink a lot of super dry, super crisp lagers. Easy to drink in the heat. Like Corona and Peroni. Asahi and Sapporo is also good. Very cold of course.

I was just naming international brands you might know. I think the most popular here is Great Northern Super Crisp lager. It's very light tasting, even women like it. I think it would be similar to Keystone Light in the US. Yes the masses here have bad taste for macro lagers just like your masses, same everywhere.

The hate for adjunct lagers is just snobbery. I brew my own beer and have won first place in regional homebrewing competitions, but I still enjoy a good macrobrew lager from time to time. As long as the beer is well made adding other unmalted grains like corn or rice is perfectly fine for the flavor profile of a light lager.
