Orange, the worst that can happen with an orange is that it is not sweet enough. Apples can be tasteless AND have shitty texture. You'll rarely know what you get unless you eat GMO apples but in that case you could also just stick to eating chocolate.

This could just be me living in a major apple growing region hundreds of miles away from the nearest orange orchard, but a bad apple is miles better than a bad orange. You've never had a bad orange if you think the worst thing you can get is "not sweet enough". A bad orange is overly dry and tastes foul.
