Making a grilled cheese is a huge pain in the ass when you just take a nice piece of sourdough , some sharp cheese and toss in the micro
Its done when the cheese is melted and it bends in half easy

Not him, but you can make a really tasty, but basic tomato sauce in that much time or less.

Minced garlic in evoo
Saute it for a min or two.
Add strained tomatoes, ground pepper, and herbs if you want.
Simmer for a few mins.

You season it by adding the salted pasta water.

Dump sauce in pasta pot with pasta, add pasta water until the sauce coats all the pasta stirring the whole time.
Add a good drizzle of evoo and stir to make the pasta all shiny and nice.
DONE.

Try it sometime. It's nice for a weeknight pasta.

I think tomato puree is basically the same thing. You take tomatoes and put them through a strainer to get a smooth sauce from them.

If you have fresh tomatoes you can chop them, bring to a simmer, and press through a strainer to make it as well. Very convenient and super tasty with good toms.

Sorry, but he's right. Unless you have a barbecue press handy, making a grilled cheese fucking sucks. Either the bread burns before the cheese, the cheese never melts, or you get soggy bread trying to melt the cheese first with a pan lid. This is especially a problem if you want a lot of cheese than the guaranteed winner of 2.5 slices. OPs cafeteria food isn't any better, but making a grilled cheese isn't as easy as it looks, despite its intended audience. Easier than a beef wellington? Yes. I add more toppings to this along with a unique cheese. I microwave it and then place it on the stove to crisp up the crust. The base only costs a dollar.

>grilled cheese is a complicated time consuming meal that takes bare minimum 10+ minutes and is filled with pitfalls that can cause it to completely fail if you are not a master chef dedicated to the craft and hovering over it the entire time without blinking
Is this really what we are arguing? I'm starting to agree with the other poster this whole thread appears to be ai generated. I refuse to believe any sane person can struggle with grilled fucking cheese.

Lately I've been eating pie shell on its own. Basically, I make a flaky pie crust, roll it out thin, and cut it into bite size strips to bake on a tray. I'll then treat them like crackers and eat them on their own or with a small topping. I don't know anyone else who does this

I agree. When the meat and cheese is cold out of the fridge it's not very enjoyable. I like it at room temperature.
