Very few farmers raise lamb for meat in the US. Just no demand for it which is a shame.

Lamb is produced in massive quantities in the US
It's sold to Middle Eastern and Chinese markets due to its high quality
We ironically mostly consume Australian lamb and it's...eh. I gotta find some local lamb

All meat is the same in the USA, comes from the same herds, goes to the same processors, is inspected according to computer.

Don't tell me you fell for the premium meat seller meme, lol.

Mate. Aussie lamb is so tasty.
It's odd to hear that lamb is not popular in the US.
It's become very expensive here -we used to have lamb chops and veg 6 nights a week when I was growing up.
There are currently 79m sheep (all grass fed) in Aus, and about 27m people.
It's a shame you guys don't eat more of it; it's delicious.

Maybe it will be more popular in future. We're all upset that it's become so expensive.

Throw it away. New Zealand is infamous in Australia for importing low-tier Chinese products and flogging them as New Zealand made products, its the least hidden industry secret.

Australia doesn't have sheep bred for meat. Only surplus wool breeds. Try lamb in Greece or Afghanistan sometime.

If you look at the old restaraunt menus they all had mutton and lamb

Sheep are not conducive to feedlot style factory farming. They do much better free range and grass fed. This is why Australia has 75 million sheep, New Zealand has 25 million sheep and the US has 5.5 million sheep.

>Australia doesn't have sheep bred for meat. Only surplus wool breeds.
Australian lamb is white sheep (bred for meat). Australian wool is Merino.
