Belvedere and Luksusowa are the most widely distributed Polish vodkas found in the US. I live in the northeast and I can only find Deep Eddie at big box liquor stores, I thinks it's more popular in the south and west. I always challenge my friends to line up a shot of Tito's and one of Deep Eddie, down both and honestly say with one is smoother. I never drank flavored liquor in highschool. First liquor I ever tried was when I was 16 and the first place I drove to with my new driver's license was to the liquor store my friend worked at. He sold me a 750ml bottle of Evan Williams white label and a 40oz of Miller high life and drove to the lake beach. I cracked open the whiskey and poured two shots into a unused paper coffee cup and sent it down the hatch. I never understood people who say they hated beer and whiskey the first time they drink it. I also like black coffee, chewing tobacco and cigars so my taste buds are built different. Americans these days are just afraid of flavor.

Yes and no. We have a $7 bottle tax on anything over 19% alcohol, which was ruled illegal by the state supreme court except they still charge it.
We also have a massive inter-state liquor tax, except for Oregon, Alaska, BC, Alberta, Idaho, Montana, and the Yukon. Except it also doesn't apply to U.S. territories and/or protectorates, so Puerto Rico, where Bacardi, Captain Morgan, etc. are from , as well as Native nations, so Rich & Rare, New Amsterdam, etc.

STEP ASIDE FUCKERS. Most of Ontario's cheapest booze is domestic fortified wine (17%-20% abv.) which comes from wineries around Niagara or something. Kelly's was the cheapest by a good margin last time I checked, though it's still beat by No Name's dollar beers if you factor in the deposit (and if they still sell those). The other fortified wines would generally come in plastic bottles, though there was an Australian brand (Emu?) on the lower end of abv. that came in glass and didn't look so trashy. Was the shittiest of them, however. Once saw a bottle of Emu in a professor's house and he explained that he'd only dare touch the stuff for cooking, but of course my standards were much lower.

Only reason I found out about Kelly's is because I'd see the cartons strewn about the parks come morning when I lived in Thunder Bay. And in fact Thunder Bay is Ontario's Kelly's capital, and its liquor stores stock more than any in Toronto. Pretty sure it's all going to alcoholic natives from the reserves.

>decide to go on a date
>we both wanted to drink so we decided to bus

>bus back to local skatepark and get absolutely obliterated by gas station moonshine on an empty stomach
>end up fucking her on the grass near the bus terminal
>black out on my bus ride home, I am the sole passenger
>vomit tremendously while seated in plain view of the drivers mirror
>he somehow doesn't notice
>by the grace of God I heard a stop somewhat near my house (10 blocks)
>make it home with frozen vomit on my jacket
Turns out I tried to stop the vomit from going all over the bus by catching it down my sleeve. And that's why I only drink the 5% stuff anymore

Prices are the same barring it isn't over a fifth. Over that volume there's a huge state tax. I just drive into Oregon when I get liquor

60k is absolutely no longer poor outside of major cities, albeit firmly within the lower middle class. cities like seattle are an entirely different matter.
I'd say WT is a step above Jack Daniels or Jameson on the filthy drunk ladder but not super far above them.

Yeah, the other cheap fortified wines were good too when I couldn't find Kelly's. They all came in the exact same shitty plastic bottle from the bottle shelf, but had various names. I figured out I'd hit a comfortable level of barely drunk after half a bottle of those wines, but I'd get screwed if what they had was like 18% or something and fail to meet my threshold. Only drank on weekends and thus never developed a tolerance, so I could follow that rule pretty faithfully. Was enough to land myself at a bar later and coast on a single cheap beer the rest of the night.

But FUCK Faxe. First drink I had after moving to Montreal and it was total shit. I'd take Bleue Dry over that. Maybe I just wasn't ready for it, but it's seared into my brain that that stuff sucks.
