>Unfiltered brewed coffee contains diterpenes cafestol and kahweol, more commonly referred to as lipids or oils, that can elevate LDL cholesterol. According to a 2020 study published by the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, "unfiltered coffee contains 30 times more diterpenes than a cup of filtered coffee1". Diterpenes release during brewing and are easily and effectively removed from brewed coffee with a filter - the finer the pores / holes in the filter, the more effective the filtration.

The best method for preparing coffee is entirely up to personal preference. Some constants exist, however. Fresher roasted beans will be superior to older roasted beans, and grinding beans just before brewing will be superior to pre-ground.
As for the brewing methods, the big three are:
>pourover
Ground coffee is placed into a vessel with some kind of filtration on the bottom, that vessel is placed over a collection container (mug, carafe). Hot water is poured over and through the ground coffee in a controlled manner.

>immersion
Ground coffee and (usually hot, sometimes cold) water are mixed together and allowed to sit for some time. The coffee is then poured into surving cups. Coffee may or may not be filtered.

>espresso
Finely ground coffee is compressed into a 'puck'. Pressurized hot water is then passed through the puck. Pressures range from 3 to 15 bars of pressure, but most people brew with 6 to 9 bars.

You can't really know what's the 'best' for you until you've tried a few different brewers, coffee to water ratios, and techniques.

Yes. Milk. And a little sugar. Instant coffee is only good when milked and sweetened.

I prefer to combine all three methods. I use a Clever dripper to merge pourover and immersion, then put the brewed coffee in the water tank of my espresso machine
