Trust me, you do NOT want to eat seafood there.

If you walk around the "seafood restaurants" with their big fish tanks showing off their "fresh fish", and look in the tanks, you'll see the most horrendous stew of shit and fungus and half-dead fish that you can imagine. It's like they pull them straight out of the sewage canals.

I rented a kayak when I went to Koh Chang, which is supposed to be some sort of idyllic pristine nature preserve, and went out paddling on the ocean. I very quickly turned back, because I didn't want to splash around among the floating toilet paper blobs and other direct-from-the-toilets-of-the-resorts biowaste that was all around on the water. Someone I later worked with told me he'd gone there for a vacation and gotten a scratch on his leg, which became so badly infected that the docs thought they were going to have to amputate.

It's a seriously disgusting place for seafood. Chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, you're not going to be any worse off than anywhere else. Oceans? Giant dumping ground for their sewage. Don't even consider it.

If you don't think the crust is the most important part of a pizza you're doing it wrong. Pizza is bread with different toppings. It's essentially a type of bread, and that's the main thing. It was way more sovl and people actually care about things; CT's in a constant smudgy haze and has much less personality. CT only seems less negroidic because it's so segregated; you have nice white towns and poor black cities and literally nothing else. I think I didn't really explain my original assertion properly.

When I made the analogy that good-sauce places are like Rome in a sea of Carthages, I meant that there are a ton of pizza places around me and none of them have good sauce except one or two pizza places that are actually Italian places (rather than muslim places making pretend pizza). The Italian places have delicious sauce in my local landscape, THAT is what sets them aside. Turkish and Leb places don't even understand the importance of sauce, it's usually not even detectable on their pizzas. all they care about are gimmick pizzas covered in every bit of kitchen garbage they can come up with

So I've heard about these "NY System" hot dog places in RI. I have questions, including:

(1) are these places and their hot dogs worth taking a little trip from CT for?

(2) why are they called "NY System"? Aside from how pathetic it is to have one of your signature dishes be named after another state, they don't seem like any hot dogs I've had in NYC.

Hot Dogs became very popular on Coney Island, so people in RI made their own version of hot wieners and called it "New York System" for advertisement purposes. And no, it's not worth a ride all the way to RI for a hot dog. I'm sure there are good places in CT to go to. The point of them is that they're cheap and you can buy 5 of them, they aren't "drive to another state" quality food.

You won’t find this on any menu, but if you’re a true local you’ll know. The Famous Sauce is often served in small ramekins commonly called “dookie drops” by locals and used for dipping. The sauce is also sold for $10 for an 8 ounce container, something many New Britain locals take advantage of due to the popularity of the Famous Sauce. >Our sauce is carefully concocted using only the finest, hand-picked Jersey tomatoes, renowned for their vibrant color and unparalleled sweetness. Each can is filled with a harmonious blend of premium ingredients, expertly balanced to create a symphony of rich and delicious flavors.
>Ingredients Tomatoes, Corn Oil, Salt, Spices, Garlic Powder.

Who knows? maybe Jersey tomatoes are like Sangiovese grapes planted in California, but the corn oil instead of olive just evokes Marie's kitchen blunders and relegates it immediately into the slop category.
Seems sort of like an ill Acquired taste like how some people love Pizza King, the most ridiculous excuse for pizza evar; but since they grew up with it, they associate it with good report cards, winning little league championships and first dates at 16 that went well.
