>roast ham
>hawaiian buns
>date cake
>roast veg

This is the current menu. Never had a Christmas ham before so I'm very curious. I figured it would pair nicely with the hawaiian buns, and even if the pork is a bust, the buns will pick up the slack

Date cake cause I want to try making a no sugar added cake and I want to see if I can scrape by with dates and some stevia powder

Should be a decent meal, I hope

We usually do a whiskey and maple glazed ham with a checkerboard score of course. Love those deeply caramelized burnt ends on it. Any advice for really amping it up in terms of sides anon?

If memory serves me correct, the mere mention of salmon ignites a culinary symphony in my mind. Picture, if you will, the moment when a pristine slab of salmon emerges, its glistening surface reflecting the journey from the depths of the ocean to the kitchen's domain. The alchemy of this fish, born of tumultuous waters and bearing the imprint of nature's artistry, beckons our chefs to orchestrate a masterpiece.

Christ Almighty.
It's this year at my Mums new Kitchen.

So she usually opens with Crackers and Pate, Salmon with Cream Cheese or a Prawn cocktail.
Chicken or Split Pea and Ham Soup.
Followed by Roast Turkey with Stuffing (We've opened her eyes to just roasted stuffing in a pan, not just from the Turkey)
Roast Beef and Roast Ham dripping in Honey, all with their accommodating gravies.
Mashed Potatoes, Roast Potatoes, usually with Goose Fat, pigs in blankets, and Yorkshire puddings.
Carrots, Green Beans, Brussels sprouts with Bacon and Chestnuts, roast parsnips.

Then finishing with a Trifle, some M&S Cakes including Cheesecake and Chocolate Cake, and a selection of cheeses and crackers.

Yep.

why do you want to substitute sugar outside of dates with sugar inside of dates ?

if it's about the evils of refined sugar, why not use less refined sugar ?

that said, date cake is the shit.
there's a great recipe on bon appetit for a date cake with toffee sauce .
the sauce really helps the cake but if you really want to save on sugar consider pairing it with simple creme fraiche.
