I have lived all over the country and yes, this is true. First off, the South is literally where 99% of the food in the country comes from. It's grown and raised right there so it doesn't have to travel so far to get to your plate. It might not be the healthiest food, but taste-wise it's the best, hands down. Southern hospitality is a real thing, and they take great pride in their cooking ability. One of the best feelings in the world for a Southerner is to see someone genuinely enjoying their food, so they put a lot of effort into it. There is also a huge range of cuisines down there.
