Hello friends. I am preparing a nice lasagna for me and my girl. Feel free to join me in the process. My hope is for a positive thread but this ain’t reddit so feel free to call me a nigger or otherwise browbeat me. Fyi I am an American of Irish upbringing so guido cooking isn’t my forte. Picrel is the wine I selected. It’s not Italian only because good California wines mog Italian wine.

Why waste so much on a basic date/night in?

This kind of bottle is meant for like a birthday/anniversary/etc. Not for drinking with random dinner on a tuesday night.

Have you even tasted this wine before and do you know if it'll pair well with what you're cooking?

Meh...your soffritto looks chopped way to big.
You want your soffrito to pretty much blend into the meat sauce and be undetectable, which means you want to mince it it so you don't get those large pieces, you can even use a grater to get a fine cut.

OP is retarded for wasting money on literally the sloppa of Napa Valley cabs minus Caymus.
Also pairing a big alcohol warm climate Cab with fucking lasagna is retarded. If you were doing Cali red you should've gone with Syrah or Pinot Noir from Santa Barbera. Could've gotten fucking Tablas Creek red from Paso for half the price of that Stags' Leap.

You do realize modern Napa and Sonoma wines are vastly different from the 70s stuff right?
Also the Judgement of Paris was retarded considering all of the judges, minus 2, preferred a French red as their #1 choice and yet Stag's Leap won because they did an sum of each judges score which is a stupid way to judge wines and is not used in any serious competition.
