just for one second, i’d like you to self-reflect.
the OP post is not asking about peppers in regards to taste whatsoever, but instead chooses to inquire about the ‘latest and greatest happening’.
the first, second and third post are no different and choose not to address taste and rather provide input on what’s ’in’, ‘popular’ or whatever meme show (which again is more about celebs than taste) respectively.
so please enlighten me how hot sauces are anything but a popular conversation piece among soyboys.

tl;dr: open wide for the picture, soyboy

The hottest I've eaten is a ghost pepper. But yeah it does have a nice taste, even as excruciatingly hot as it is. Also at those levels of heat, you get a massive endorphin rush from it, almost like getting high

What's the standard for spicier food here? I've had plenty of Chinese, Indian and Korean food and it mostly seems to be either for compensating and make ingredients more edible or for "that's how we like it culturally"

I fucking love habaneros, They have a really good amount of heat and the fruity flavor of them is unmatchable.

Pureeing them with tomatoes, onions, lime, cilantro and salt makes a phenomenal sauce.

>Ghost peppers are so played out.
They've become diluted (literally) into an absolutely meaningless marketing term on the same level as "wagyu". "Ghost pepper" is now actually a turn off because it generally means the manufacturer is more concerned with the meme than flavor or heat.

>What's the latest and greatest happening in the pepper world?
The Puckerbutt guy has allegedly bred a new "hottest pepper evar"... but he's trying to maintain Intellectual Property control over this latest one, lesson learned from the Reaper meme, so his claim is as unverifiable as it is meaningless from a /ck/ perspective. Somebody lost the plot. Hope he at least sells a lot of t-shirts.

The other news (old news) is that Paqui abandoned their Tiktok prank hot chip after some BIPOC died, so now medicated zoomers are dousing themselves in gasoline and setting themselves on fire in order to feel anything, anything at all.

For me, the latest happening is that some of my go-to soyboy craft sauces are now openly advertising themselves as "favorite sauces of J. Lopez Q. Kenji-Alt-Dingaling-Shyamalan". It was bad enough when they mentioned "Hot Ones" in the advertising copy, now I actually throw up my mouth a little when submitting the order. I'm THIS far away from saying fuckit and buying a Tabasco holster so that I can maintain my contrarian hipster street cred at the next food truck festival.

I'm not a huge fan of ghost pepper flavor but its heat is basically the minimum heat in something that I want when I want something spicy. My parents got me recently a jar of ghost pepper salsa from Pike's Peak in Colorado when they went there this year and it us actually spicy and has good flavor too so I love it
