Don't eat them if their skin looks scaley, their feathers are falling off, or their flesh looks like it's rotting when they've just been bagged. Never try to eat seagull, they are easier to catch than rock doves (pigeons) but they taste like absolute shit, I have no idea why.

Not me but an uncle of mine took an old dresser that he found on a street and cut a hole in the back of it and put in some shelfs. Then he pushed it up against a window facing the alley so the landlord didn't see. Each year some pigeons would go into the dresser and make nests and lay eggs. He would wait a little while until the squabs were the right size, then one night he would shut the window and take out the squabs to eat. He said they were good but I never tried any.
