op the only work around i could think of is starting the recipe normally, then adding the toppings while its still on the stove, covering to par cook them, and then throwing it in your oven at the hottest setting

I wouldn't get your oven as hot as it can go. 420-450F is fine. Preheat the oven with the pan inside it, when the oven's ready put a good layer of oil in the pan and plop the pidser in it and cook on a burner for a couple minutes so you get a fried dough crust. Apply toppings and then back in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until dough is cooked through.

I make pizza and basically everything at 450f. I don't put my oven any higher because the off gases nearly killed my bird at higher temperatures. I only make pizza with cast iron.
Spend the money and buy a baking steel. It really makes up for the lower temperatures.

The off gassing was probably carbon monoxide, not Teflon since the bird didn't die. Be careful if you have pets when you cook with higher temperatures. The real problem was fall off from air frying.
