I lived in DC for 10 years, and if I ever have to dine again to any Ethiopian restaurant, it'll be too soon. I totally agree that the injera bread is terrible. Gummy crepe, with no benefit to the overall meal.It doesn't suck up a thing, sorry. It's too moist.

There are many dishes that could be sooo much better, but then someone ruins them with the wrong spice profile for the ingredients at hand. Sugary tomatoes, then toss in hard boiled eggs wtf povery. Some kind of almost curry, but then, nope, ruined with sugar and ginger.

Indian food is fantastic, as is Afghani food, Paki food, some kind of armenian/greek/italian fusion, mmhmm and their breads and sauces, but I'm sure I've been coerced to trying high end Ethopian food over and over, from Georgetown to Dupont and no. My Russian friend learned how to cook ugali with greens and chicken from a Kenyan dude he knew, then showed me how to make it. It is quite tasty but I haven't had it in a while.
