I always do with the ones I get here in Florida. I was taken out to this nice place with these people I was meeting for the first time in Texas and instead of just getting something slightly more inside the lines I decided to get this salad with blackened shrimp. So when it come out my girlfriend is like, "Are you going to eat the tails?," and I'm like, of course. So these things were tough as shit and the whole table was painfully silent the entire meal while I kept crunching them up. The rest of that visit got even worse, worse weekend of my life

I just bite hard against the base just above the tailfins. Then I can pull the meat out of that shell fragment and leave almost nothing inside it.

The shell has flavor, but it's also disgusting to eat.

the tail is edible when it's fried, not so much when grilled or sauteed. actually a giant peeve of mine when people serve pasta/salad with tails on. if it's not a finger food i shouldn't have to reach my hand into my fucking mouth dumbass chef
