I have an Ollie's near me that sells the San Marzano tomatoes for .89¢ a can. I buy minimum of 4 everytime I go.
One can of that, hand squished, 4T. butter, garlic and can parm makes a perfect, simple sauce for a half package of pasta.
You might try to explore the wonderful world of thin crust pizza using either the dollar store thin crust shells, or Olive oil brushed tortillas.
Looks like a decent haul.

I bought some of that Laoganma or whatever, chilli oil.
He got angry and threw it in the trash and said "NEVER eat food produced in China!"
So I figured, he knows best.

I'm disabled and there was no food at a food bank, I was doing pretty rough, dropped a lot of pounds
Evidently east indians had been taking it all for their families...I saw a family of maybe 5 or 6 east indian kids and they're all leaving with giant bags of stuff. I waited in a line and got told there was nothing left. Had to go to a church for food.
Doing better now, I have a laptop and I do some work online staying in low income housing, but its getting really hard since I can't walk and I live alone.
I'm honestly considering just lying down and not getting up. I can't really do this anymore. sorry about my blog.

were you applying for food stamps or just a food pantry card? i dont qualify for food stamps because i dont have enough car notes and biracial toddlers but the food pantry dgaf they just want to unload all of this carcinogenic fodder grade slop that processors donate for tax writeoffs. most of the people who use it are here on papers or just undocumented.

I was on a waiting list for almost a year, now I get $1030 a month but that doesn't even barely cover the "low income housing". I want to move out of the city, I don't mind living countryside, but they haven't given me a transfer application for my benefits so I'd get nothing.
>>19881334
yeah that'd be the ideal world but if I went to the food bank I'd just be handing out tin cans to more east indians. toronto has completely fallen, i'm not trying to be racist or something, but they get all of the food now.

kinda funny how locked into regional reality tunnels we get, isn't it?
What's the strangest but edible pidzer combo Sergei cooked up for ya? I could see some decent, but unorthadox combos:
>Reuben pizza: white sauce(olive oil and garlic,) corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Thousand Island dressing spiraled on after baking
It could work. After all, wasn't pizza originally just a way to use up leftovers/dough back when there were big woodfired community bread ovens that would get fired off a couple times a week maybe?

great lakes region. if you check the fine print on the back of the can, a lot of these products come from big name processing companies like dole, del monte, bird's eye and red gold but are packaged and distributed strictly for donation. that's why you'll never see most of these brands in stores. if you check the distributor on these and the very low low generics like you'll see at dollar stores like chestnut hill or clover valley, you'll find they often come from the same places.

nothing remarkably inventive, just whatever on pizza. ham and cheddar cheese with thinly sliced gherkins was one, pickled mushrooms with bacon and tomatoes was another, chicken with roasted potatoes and greenbeans, queso fresco with scrambled egg and caramelized onion. the base was always the same, a couple of spoons of tomato paste thinned with water, a little salt, granulated garlic and dried thyme on a basic yeast pizza crust. he was also really good at making bread.

apply was the wrong word, here you just have to fill out a form and they give you a card. there's no application process, they just keep their patrons on file so randos dont bumrush the place and they can keep track of your visits (the indian liquor store by my apartment has suspiciously pantry looking cans in their grocery section for $3/apice). most pantries limit a person to two visits per month per pantry, i think you can visit other pantries if you want to. the form just asks for your name and address, if you work (nothing about income or hours), how many people you're feeding and if you need further assistance like help finding housing or a job. then they hand you a card and you grab your food
