Do you cook your pizza sauce?

>> No.19874969

For a conventional oven, yes. If I'm in the wood fire oven, no.

>> No.19874980

No, it ends up tasting like spaghetti sauce real quick.
>canned whole tomatoes
>drain the juice
>immersion blend/hand crush to your desired consistency

Food didn't become edible until male chefs came along but you go ahead and eat your burnt slop. You used to have to go to a restaurant to get a pork chop.

No. The heat of the oven cooks the tomatoes. Whole peeled, crushed, ground. Salt, dried Sicilian oregano. Optional evoo, red wine or balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, anchovy paste, honey, black/red pepper, fresh basil.

this
>smashed up canned whole tomatoes
that only work for margarita pizzas and those are honestly a gimmick,
sure they're good if you get it made with all the best fresh ingredients money can buy and cooked by a pizzatrician that studied in a pizzeria folding dough for 70 years but my god there can't be anything more pretentious then a gourmet pizza

bro just crush a whole canned tomato and add salt...that's it
If you're going to add all that other shit you cook it down like >>19875887 to meld the flavors and thicken the sauce

I just use ketchup for my pizza sauce. I got the idea from the cooking show called 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo'
