There are some foods that are really great when you only have them on rare or special occasions. Spitroast Pig, Christmas Goose, Deathcap Wellington, Lobster.

Yeah if it's regular fare it has no lustre, but c'mon nothing is like lobster so when you DO have it it's fucking nice. This is why nobody blows their brains out when they have turkey, because it's literally 90% just chicken. Nothing is like lobstah.

steamed and boiled lobster is trash but fried lobster and lobster sashimi is great

Lobster is just an extra large shrimp. You can pretty much simulate eating lobster with scallops and shrimp for much cheaper. Lobster used to be dirt cheap but nowadays its just not worth the price premium.

Lobstre doesn't taste like shremp or scallops at all. The texture also is different.

Be that as it may, I have had shrimp that taste like lobster before. These were the largest shrimp I'd ever eaten, mind you.

>> No.19863438

>>19863436
Well I guess that's fair but idunno. Flavour is one thing, texture is one thing, but the overall experience of eating it is another. I think lobster is still pretty unique and very few people have access to lobster often if at all. And that makes it a special occasion even if just a little bit.

I've had langastino also but I'm talking about a fat shrimp tail here. Langastinos are totally underrated and rare. There's a frozen fish truck that sells them here on Long Island as "baby lobsters" but I know a fucking langastino when I see one.

I loved lobster and crab as a kid, but nowadays I much prefer clams, mussels, oysters, etc.

Much less work, and it doesn’t look like I’m eating a spider.
