Never see anyone talking about it.

Lamb is a fairly regional thing where its often both low quality and needlessly expensive if you don't live close to places that raise lamb and eat a lot of if. It's delicious but a lot of places just can't get good lamb. Bad lamb is also a much more noticeable dip in quality compared to bad chicken or beef or pork. Add on that it's harder to cook for the average Joe and people just don't bother.

I should buy lamb some time, I haven't had any in over a year.

It's grossly overrated for the simple fact that you can cut them into chops and make the vastly superior crumbed lamb cutlets.

>> No.19809320

yes, lamb in general is seriously underrated

good rack

Only brownoids and Australians eat lamb.

Yeah i might have a rack next time i'm feeling like lamb. Usually i have lamb shanks. I think i got screwed last time i had shanks though, even though the shanks were massive and they were pretty chewy so i'm assuming it was Hogget labelled as lamb.

yep
t. australian

new zealanders have lamb as well though dunno bout the uk or ireland

Getting decent lamb is a pain in the ass. I love lamb but I never cook it at home exactly for the reasons you said. The quality is shit and it's insanely overpriced.

It is a bit expensive, but I like it. I wish lamb in general was more popular in the US

Yeah, I do like it though. I've had bad lamb a few times but I have also been to some pretty expensive Brazilian BBQ places and when they serve lamb I'm never disappointed

USA food companies hold us hostage to streamlined “chicken, beef, pork” and fish is an afterthought of “well let’s make sure to keep frozen tuna and salmon in stock with the rest being bottom-eating shit fish from chinkland.” Only see duck before the holidays. Turkey, too. (Unless is it is ground up as a substitute.) Anybody remember lobster tanks in grocery stores or red snapper being cheaper than chicken?

There was basically a war between cattlemen and sheep herders in the U.S. back in the day. The cattlemen won.

Beef is delicious, though...

Also I get these giant squid tentacle skewers at the fish counter when I go grocery shopping. $2.99 for a foot and a half long skewered giant squid tentacle that amounts to just a little more than a pound. Only sad thing is it's previously frozen but still tastes great.

Eating sheep not really a thing in burgerstan. I only see lamb or mutton on offer in high-end steakhouses, foreign restaurants, foreign grocery stores (halal markets in particular), and maybe also whole foods).

>underrated
The expression you're looking for is "slept on". If nobody's talking or thinking about a thing it can't be underrated. Just like how 90% of people don't go to church, but don't go around preaching the benefits of atheism.

My mum bought three racks for me to cook for everyone. Gave it a herb crust. My brother said it was the best meal he ate in ages. It certainly was delicious. I did a wine sauce for it too.

Aussies, Kiwis and Bongs produce excellent lamb and it's the best tasting meat.

Bongs might have the slight edge over the kiwis but that's subjective, nothing beats a bit of charred lamb fat. Feel sorry for Burgers though, they can't seem to understand lamb.

Yes, but I lived an hour from the coast.

Also Lamb is too hard to get anything good, just find a local goat guy, the meat isn't as gamey and it's way cheaper. You can buy a whole goat for like $250 and have it butchered.

Lamb is by far my favorite meat (well, except my wife's bull's load.) Where I am -- the Most Patrician People's Republic of Minnesota, -- it can be hard to find. Sure, you can get a rack or chops at Costco, but that's OK quality. There's a small butcher shop near me that gets a nice pasture-raised lamb occasionally. I can get some more niche cuts like breast and sirloin steaks.

The U.S Beef cartel destroyed domestic sheep/lamb production. Its a pretty interesting story and is basically a microcosm of the larger problems with the U.S, if you care to look into it.

this shit can be godlike when prepared well. easily one of my favorite foods. too bad the piece costs like 50€/kg here so I have never bought it myself.
