Texas Red is not chili but rather a style of chili and really not that popular of a style if we're being honest because the only place you'll ever find it is at a chili cookout

There are multiple styles of chili. Some have beans and some don't.

Chili made with stew meat, like a Texas chili or a Chili Colorado do not contain beans.
Homestyle chili is made with ground meat and beans. This is what most people think of when someone says they're making chili.
Chili sauce or chili used as a topping contains finely ground meat and almost never has beans. I would claim it is a mistake to add beans to chili sauce.

I almost always put red and black beans in mine. I've tried making beanless chili and it's alright, it takes a bit longer to prepare and it doesn't really taste 'better,' different maybe. Made this pot last Sunday with lots of fresh cherry tomatoes and red bell peppers from my garden. It was pretty good, I'll probably make another pot this weekend, post recipe recommendations.

The first Texas chilis were a form of boiled pemmican.

Combine beef fat/meat, chilis, salt and pound it all together in a mortar and pestle.
It's an unappetizing trail ration that got boiled down into something edible.

This is why the beans arguments are so fucking dumb. Chili Is already different from when it was first cooked out on the range. Hardly anybody eats the original chili anymore because it fucking sucks.

That's not browned. When you brown meat you're creating a maillard reaction just like searing a steak that turns it dark brown. Your meat is basically steamed in its own juices. Left is ground beef that is fully cooked and edible, but not browned. Right is browned. Yes, I know yours is pork but that is irrelevant to my point.
