i created it(roktist, mokaschizo,) while posting cat memes and talking about coffee

this then morphed into good/great coffee, there is goffee(what i make) and coffee(what you make)

I bought the JMax S a few weeks ago after using a "Precision Bean" manual grinder for a few years. Instant and noticeable jump in quality. 18g espresso grinds that used to take a few minutes now take less than one and comparing the granules there's a noticeable uniformity to the 1zspresso than my old POS grinder. Highly recommend bro, at least the J-max.

I believe pressurized baskets work by making the valve a point of resistance in the basket in contrast to a normal basket where the puck of coffee is used for resistance. If your coffee is coming out bitter you might be overextracting. You could try using more grounds, lowering the brew temp, etc. You could also just have an uneven extraction, in which case you gotta get better puck prep/a better grinder

coffee/caffeine inherently does not give energy. thats what sugar does. caffeine merely prevents the body from wanting sleep. in some individuals it levels out their mood, so if they were more restless prior, it will relax them.
for me, it is a mood leveller.
if i drink two mugs/two shots, and get my mind stuck on something though, its hard to pull it away. like a restless night that i can accurately make happen.

Ok.
The problem is that it’s a 3 cup moka and I made a 1 cup coffee with the reducer installed, so I’m pouring with the pot filled 1/3 therefore I have to keep it more inclined and the coffe inside pours faster.

I never made these faggy videos before so each time I rewatch them I can learn and improve.

To avoid the coffee drops I can keep the cup inclined with my hand although it wasn’t practical with that framing/location without me covering the background.

>>19778459
It’s a dark roast moka pot coffee, there’s nothing special about it.
The key to make it look syrupy as fucc is to get the upper border cup reflection on the coffee surface in the picture to add a tridimensional feel.
Also, play with the RAW file (although that picture was taken with my phone)to adjust light and shadows and bring out the details.

I've been using this thing to make cold brew, and I have to say, it's fucking garbage. The container that holds the grounds is too small and too high up. The yield is minimal, and the coffee comes out week. After a few tries I've given up and just mix coffee with water and let it sit there for 12+ hours and then use the shitty grounds holder to filter grounds out once it's done. I might have been doing something wrong, but I don't think so. It's just garbage.

huh? it makes ~1L of concentrate for about 80 to 100g of grounds.
>coffee is weak
what are you mixing it with? I can go 30% to 50% concentrate and the rest as water & milk and it's fine. If it's weak then use more of it and less of milk/water?
>basket is too high up
just fill it with more water then? you can fill it up to the top to almost overflowing and then leave it in the fridge 24 hours.

When people say to pre-heat your brewer how much do they actually mean?
Because to me pre-heat means at least warm to the touch but that takes a ton of hot water from a tap so I assume that's not what they mean

>> No.19781626

>to me pre-heat means at least warm to the touch
That's what they mean. Best way to do it is to put it in the sink or in deep plate so that water can't escape from the bottom as easily, and then filling it up with boiling water. If you're just running water through it then yeah, it's gonna take a lot of water. If it's plastic you don't really have to pre-heat, just rinse it under the hot tap with the paper inside it.

>> No.19781628

Ideally you want it to heat up to water's boiling point to avoid heat losses, but that's pretty hard to do as you have noticed.

I tried using a flair 58 today. It came out watery even after a few tries. I expected this at first, but I'm suspicious about one of the parts. One thing I noticed is that the pressure bar gauge feels a little loose, and as I pull a shot, it doesn't react at all. This part is very important for me to be able to follow recipes and know when I'm applying how much pressure. I'm wondering if either I haven't set it up correctly or if the gauge is faulty. Anyone have experience with this?

That pressure can only come out in a few places. Either water sprays out of the top of the brew chamber, sprays into the gauge, or it comes out the bottom of your basket. I'm going to guess you're not grinding anywhere near fine enough to build pressure for a 58mm basket. Also make sure you're not getting an air bubble in your brew chamber. Always fill to the top.

Which handheld grinder should I get? I bought a cheap electric one, and I think the motor is on the fritz. If it were nicer, I'd probably try to fix it, but it was under 50 bucks, so I imagine the parts and time investment aren't worth the chance of seeing it work again. Generally a manual grinder is going to perform better than an equivalently priced electric grinder. If you're willing to drop $200 you can get a kinu phoenix or a low tier electric grinder. For less you can get a kingrinder k4 (espresso focused) or k6 (pourover focused), although the people that make them have had some manufacturing issues recently, I don't think any kingrinders have been effected as of yet but it's something to keep in mind.

If you want to experience true luxury cast aside your prejudice and locate some Grooming Department soaps. Handmade by some guy named Mohammed out in california. SSS+ tier. TFS was my absolute favorite(still are for plant based) before I got ahold of a few of his pucks. Just got in coattails last week with a new TFS aftershave. Both are very complex scents. Not my pic but I've been running that semogue owner's club SE 2012 silvertip mixed knot since it came out. I might make another espresso and have a nice hot shave later tonight.

I make 50g of pourover every morning. I recently got a manual espresso machine, but I'm still figuring it out, and I think one of my problems might be my grind isn't fine enough since the one I've got is cheap is broken (it makes a lot more noise than it used to, and it'll randomly turn itself off in the middle of a grind).

Does "plain coffee" just mean black? If so, do people really hate it? If I'm just making a quick cup in an automatic drip machine with some preground shit I bought at the store, sure. It'll probably be a bad experience unless I add some cream and sugar. But when I go through the effort of importing some $25/lb single source bean, unless it's meant to be drank with cream and sugar like some are, I'm not adding anything to it. The whole god damn point of getting into specialty coffee is tasting coffee that's good on its own. You can detect notes and emphasize certain aspects by tweaking variables in your pourover. Adding god damn half and half would ruin it. People here can do whatever they want, but some coffees are best drank black.

NTA, but I make pour over twice a day for me and my roommates. I also pull a few shots later on in the evening usually. It's around 20-25 minutes of work. If I decide to prep something for the next day, it's around the same. It's as much of a hobby as baking or sewing, and I wouldn't guess you'd be autistic enough to get mad at someone for treating those things like hobbies.
>Returns are very diminishin gonce you have your nethod dialed in
This is like if you ate the same bologna and cheese sandwich everyday got mad at someone for treating cooking like a hobby because you yourself don't put that much effort into it beyond what's required to make the same sandwich you've been having every day for years. Maybe your coffee's just shit.

Its combination of drip and immersion doesn't work well if you're looking to be consistent. The filter will clog from fines in both the brewing chamber and filter plate. If some filter holes clog, the result will be channeling and over brewing. There are ways to unclog the filter but you'll agitate the bed and can worsen clogging. It'll make more sense to use the french press if you're needing body in the coffee.

Make a batch of folders with a Mr Coffee then grind up a cheap bean from the store and do pourover with a scale and gooseneck. You'll be able to taste the difference, and that's with a cheap bean from the store. You're not a genius because you can make a decent cup of coffee. Most people can reach that bar after watching a couple youtube videos and practicing for a few days.

>> No.19787555

>>19787527
Youre going to extremes. If you sre buying decent coffee and have a good hand grinder you dont really need more for a pourover. Any improvement beyond that is purely subjective and probably impreceptible. You have no personality and are trying to make up for it with your expensive tirnkets. Get real

Why are you arguing with straw? I said decent coffee is easy to make and that you shouldn't position yourself as better than other people here because you make a cup that doesn't taste like sewage, and your idea of a response was to call me pretentious? Touch a boob, my guy.

I'd bet. Try it and find out. I don't drink viet coffee or use a phin. Ordering from ngu gets you a fresh roast vs buying random bags of robusta that have been sitting in amazon warehouses. Their preground is probably going to be better than whatever random shit you were served.
