I just let the restaurant staff run a train on my asshole. It's really the least I can do for the holy saints of the food industry.

yah no I have major tip fatigue. I now tip no more than 10% and if the waitress isnt hot and doesnt kiss my ass she gets nothing.

Don't Americans find tipping culture inherently revolting? Especially when you have stinkers who expect 25% lmao.

It became really easy to stop caring about tips if you stop eating out.
Things are going to get worse before they get better, and that'll happen faster if you stop relying on food service.
You're going to learn the hard way eventually that no matter how rich you are and how much you make, it's better to cook for yourself.

We are now. It was manageable for a long time because the average price plus reasonable time was still lower than in other countries, but now with this shit of them demanding 25% and up and wanting tips on everything more and more people are just not doing it.

How would inflation affect tipping % lmao this is retarded why I never tip

>> No.19776234

It was something that was well regarded, or at least tolerated before, because as much as europeans hate the overly friendly waiter archetype, their incomes being tied to tip to some degree ensured prompt, quality service. But servers have gotten majorly entitled, the expected tip % has increased, more places are expecting a tip, everyone is over it. I hope more people stop tipping entitled roasties faggot servers.

Good good, I don't really eat out but seeing this shit makes even me fed up with tipping culture.

>> No.19776243

>now you have to tip 20-25% even if the service was bad
>blame inflation
That doesn't make sense, the bill itself is already larger thanks to inflation. 15% of a larger bill means the servers are still getting more in tips, it's a percentage it will always track. And why does this shit always go one way? What about the customer, who is also dealing with the inflated bill? Could they not just drop their tip to 10% and blame inflation?

>Don't Americans find tipping culture inherently revolting?
There was a point in time that it was actually used as an incentivize good service, and to an extent, it was actually good for that. You could actually get shitty servers to quit their jobs because it was unsustainable for them.

But as you can see from Tip #1:
>Tips are often pooled; don't punish the entire staff because your fish didn't come out in a timely fashion
It's not used that way anymore. Now it's just used by management to mask the real cost of the meal.
