Buying pasta? I make my own.

I'm not a schizo about it but I pretty much stopped eating pasta
Dae? I still make chicken parm sometimes and just have the chicken and sauce. Also still cook sausages in tomato sauce but usually skip the noodle, it's a whole nother step to make them and they don't really make the dish better. Low carbs is a side benefit

Whatever's cheap or available, I like my pasta a bit thicker though and avoid brands where the pasta is thin, especially with shells and penne.

DeCecco when it's available.
Barilla when it's not.
The Kroger Private Selection is a pretty good pasta for the cost.

de cecco are the only ones here that offer tagliatelle for a decent price (1.49€ on sale) so I usually get that because nothing else pairs better with bolognese and their spaghettoni for carbonara and aglio e olio. they simply have the best selection of the mainstream brands that are actually good (not barilla)

I've also tried garofalo, rummo, di martino and a couple others but their selection is usually very limited and there are rarely any sales although the quality of the pasta is on the same level as de cecco so it's rarely worth paying double

I just get whatever is cheapest. I’ve never been able to tell any difference with “premium” pasta

Barilla tastes like bland shit. I literally gagged the last time I was forced to eat it.

does anyone know where to get this particular coloration of farfalle? I've looked around and I can find rainbow or black and white, and stuff like that, but I can't find anything with this specific coloration. and I highly doubt this random dude on youtube put that much effort into making it himself

there's this fancy shape i've been wanting to try. I forget the name, maybe its called cappolini or something. I bought it while I was staying at my brothers for the holidays and left it there. I asked for it back and he said his girlfriends kids ate it. fuck you gilbert.

If im doing seafood in any kind of white wine or cream sauce i really like it over angel hair. Your basic meat, tomato, mushroom flavors though? Polenta city baby.
