There's more to a drink in regard to getting you drunk than just the amount of alcohol

40% vodka doesn't get you drunk the same way 40% whiskey does
Four 10% beers dont get you drunk the same way a single 40% drink of the same size does
There's many aspects that go into the equation

it absolutely does

yeah because the large volume of water and dissolved solids are slowing down the absorption of the alcohol. it's not some magic difference between the drinks. it's the same as taking a drink after eating something vs having the same drink on an empty stomach

Wow ok you're just a massive retard. If you were blindfolded and took a shot of absolutely tasteless 40% vodka, you'd be exactly as drunk as you would've been if it had actually been 40% whiskey. That "difference" is in your head.

Ethanol is the same but the hangovers are different, and I suppose the chuggability.

>> No.19739680

The rate of absorption between different types of alcohol (beer vs wine vs liquor etc.) produces different "highs". Liquor tends to be more stupefying whereas beer gives you more of a "fun", sociable kind of high

>> No.19739719

I don't know about whiskey but at least for vodka vs rum, the sugars in the rum do significantly affect the rate at which your body processes the ethanol
It's only a significant factor if you're doing nothing but drinking. If you're one of those people that eats or does other substances while drinking then it's completely irrelevant how the ethanol gets in you.

As an alcoholic, ABV doesn't matter. It's the BAC so you can maintain without going into withdrawals.
I have a plane trip with a layover to and with family tomorrow, staying at their dry house without a car. Help!

Ok?

We're channers; we don't exactly drink a lot and we literally don't care about the "science" behind alcohol.

What matters is that it ages you prematurely and makes your mind dull and slow. Reason enough not to drink, and the vast majority of people on here will agree.

Now off with you, sheep.

Haha, this was a trick to force an intervention on you. Next thing you know, you'll be on television and everyone will be laughing at you.
It's not too late to cancel your trip. Do you want the entire world to know that you have a problem?
I mean, you posted this on 4chan, so the obvious answer is "yes," but I mean, can you handle the shame of being outed in front of the world on television?
These days, the internet NEVER forgets.
Run away. Hide in your shame. Use it as one might use a safety blanket.

Either bring some alcohol with you, or get yourself some valerian root. Nature's xanax. Won't make you feel 100% better, but it keep you from going over the edge. Some chamomile might help too.
Agmatine would be good too except you can really only get it online. You can maybe get some dxm. Reasons these will help, in theory anyway, is because they're both NMDA receptor antagonists like alcohol. Not sure you'd want to start a dxm addiction or start tripping while with family though.

It does.
Exactly to the same degree.
Source: that's what I drink, and I measure it by grams.
>Four 10% beers dont get you drunk the same way a single 40% drink of the same size does
Yes, beers will get you shitwasted because of the carbonation.
